Q: Can this pump just pump a single breast at a time, or is it only double?

While pregnant, I bought the specta S1 plus for pumping but after my milk came in, I couldn't get any milk out with the spectra pump. I even rented a heavy duty hospital grade pump and couldn't let down to that one either. Eventually I tried my sister-in-law's older version of the medela pump in style and I had some success, so I bought the newer version (this product) and it's been the only pump I've been able to let down to and collect/store milk. Moral of my story: if you can't let down to a pump, you might just have to try another one (as frustrating as it is having to spend more money). Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish it had a built in timer and a display panel with better control of settings. I've only had it for 1 month; no issues with durability yet.

Please save yourself the headache and tears. Luckily I was gifted another brand second hand so I’ve been using that. The pump is loud and does not work well. If you are using this pump and experiencing output issues, I’m sorry… it’s most likely the pump not you. If you are on the fence between this and something else… go with the other option.

No no no. I used it for 8 weeks and it ended up with terrible suctioning. I had so many problems with this pump. Not worth the $100. Pls just pay a little bit more and get a nicer one.

It’s not the same as the old version. Way less suction and I was unable to use both pumps after a few months because the suction was so low I had to use the piping for just one. Positive is - less part which is great for cleaning but overall would not recommend.

I received one from my insurance. it lasted about a good 5-6 month. i went and got a new one- it lasted about 3 months. then, i went and purchased another one because i was in too deep with this product (had a lot of parts to it) and the last purchase was only able to last me 1.5 month. ridiculous. i am now on a search to a new brand/pump. it maybe good to use this pump here and there but probably not for main pump. i used it as a main pump. motor was good when its new, but wears out. it'll hurt my boob and clogs ducts because of no power suction.

I have pumped a lot with 3 kids and to my surprise this Medela was so loud compared to my others. It does the job but doesn’t seem to get me quite as empty as past models that I’ve had.

Can't double pump.

Firstly I can't pump both sides at once or the pump doesn't suction enough (this is my third baby I know how to pump correctly) secondly the slits in the grey part don't have a seal to prevent milk from spilling out and I just wasted 3.5oz of the 4oz I pumped. It's very loud and I over all hate it. Would not recommend to anyone.

Stopped working after 3 months

I have had this pump for three months and it completely stopped working. We have looked up videos on how to fix it, have taken it apart and put it back together, and it doesn’t work any more. I liked it while it lasted, but it should have worked longer than 3 months. I also didn’t use this everyday, so there was not excessive use or anything like that. Super disappointed.
