A: I find that the patch alleviates the itching. It also stops the cold sore from cracking and it keeps it dry. So the patch doesn’t “relive pain” but it does offer relief from the symptoms of cold sores.

Love them!
I can respect other individuals reviews on these cold sore patches, for me though, they work great! I’ve always used the ointment which does work for me as well but with the ointment my cold sore is more exposed and I find it takes longer to heal, let alone the appearance of the cold sore. The patches keep my cold sores from getting crusty, goopy, and prevents me from touching it.

Super sticky
These are so cool. I tried a different brand but they didn’t work as well. These really stick on like good bandaids. I just got it on my nose and at first it was small barely noticeable. Next morning I wake up and my entire nose is a dark red and purple and super swollen. I usually don’t get it on the tip of my nose but I heard it’s normal for darker skin colors but I never had this happen before. Now I have to go work with middle schoolers with a big bandaid over my nose and dreading the jabs they’ll make. But otherwise I never had a problem the last time I had an outbreak.

Worth a try - like a pimple patch
4-4.5 it covers well for my area, how fast or increased speed of healing I’m unsure-TBD. Does make me feel more comfortable. This is day 1 felt the tingle this AM. Keeps clean and no spreading but thankfully I rarely get them. The abbreva (sp?) white lotion doesn’t seem to be as helpful and they crust over. Worthy of a try!

I bought this three days ago. It is not what I expected. It has helped the symptoms but does not conceal it. Only makes it look worse.

Truthfully
This was my first time ever getting a cold sore and I was in between using Abreva and Mederma. Honestly, the only reason I went with Medea was because it was the first recommended. After purchasing the patches, I didn’t read instructions and just put it on my face. I thought it was supposed to come with a cream. I ripped off the stickers and saw an amazing clear patch on my lip. I changed my patch 3 times in one day but I can honestly say it was solely due to me wanting to check progress not because it moved. When I immediately put the patch on the pain of the cold sole went away and I stopped having the urge to pick with it. My swelling in my lip has went down tremendously and my sore has started “weeping” but I’m not experiencing the scabbing that everyone say abreva causes. In just one day, my sore has improved by at least 60%. I don’t understand the mixed reviews because I don’t see myself using anything besides this. The hardest part has been me just leaving it alone and allowing it to work its magic.

Terrible!
I bought lip patches hoping they would work quickly. They’re not cheap. I should’ve bought an ointment from another brand for the same money. Some of the applicators were empty, and on some, the patches were stuck to the turquoise cell in such a way that it was impossible to peel them off. In the end, out of 5 I was only able to use one, and even that one bunched up like an accordion on my lips, so forget about applying lipstick… Overall, I’m very disappointed!

I actually love this product, it works wonders and is very discrete. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 is cause I had a pack where 4 of them was missing the patch but besides that this is this best product thus far.

I get cold sores alot so I've tried every OTC product out there! From my personal experience this one I DO NOT recommend because it made my cold sore ALOT worse 😔

Great product
I bought this on day 2 of my cold sore and after just 4 days it was scabbing over. I have never had a cold sore heal so fast. The only issue i have is when it starts lifting and I pull it off it pulls off scab before the scab is ready to come off.

Disappointing!
This product was a huge disappointment. For years, I’ve been able to keep my cold sores small and heal faster by icing the area and applying Abreva. This time, I decided to give these patches a try when I first felt the tingle — and wow, what a mistake. The cold sore ended up much larger than usual, so the patch clearly didn’t help stop the spread like my usual method does. I really wish I had just stuck with what works for me. Also, I’m very disappointed that this company requires customers to opt in to marketing emails just to leave a review. That’s not just bad UX — it violates consent laws in many regions. It left a bad taste overall.

NOOO. Stay away!!!
I used this for a tiny blister that I could barely see. It was only slightly tender. When the patch cane off it was triple the size and super painful!

I’d recommend
This product worked great. I found myself using q-tips to apply pressure while placing and peeling the patch, and if you use an oil base product to remove it, the patches peel off nicely. These patches definitely gave me the comfort of knowing my cold sore was protected with no possibilities for cracks. Though they didn’t completely hide the issue, they definitely gave me a little more confidence during the healing process.

Scarred from the patch
I bought this for my fever blister. Usually I use camphor and abreva and ive never had a scar. This time I used the mederma fever blister patch and I am scarred from it. I am so upset, my beautiful smile is scarred. I am self conscious anyway and now I feel horrible about how my face looks. I wish I had of just used the methods I have for years. I figured a quick fix with the patch and now I have this ugly scar that won't go away. I would not recommend this product.

They are pretty good
They do conceal the cold sore BUT they sometimes don’t stay all the way down. But it did help the healing and pain and embarrassment of having a cold sore
