Where's the crunch and the flavor?

I hadn’t purchased these in a few years (my cereal tastes change), but I remember enjoying them. So I bought a box during my last Target run. Something about them is different. They’re not as crunchy. Like, even before the milk hits, there’s a softer texture. Also, though I don’t expect them to be super sweet, there’s barely a hint of sugar. I may try to force myself to keep these around as a snack, but I’m strongly tempted to just throw them away. Highly disappointing.

Why the added iron?!?

Are they making this (and their honey oat version) unfriendly to men? 19 grams of iron in one serving is insane. Men over 50 should try and limit their iron intake to 10mg a day. Anything more can lead to all kinds of bad things, including kidney/heart/pancreas issues, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, and even cancer. So why have double that in one single serving of just one part of one meal?

I have eaten multigrain Cheerios every morning for years. I just opened a new box. They have changed the recipe. The cereal has a terrible texture and different flavor that I can’t eat. I will throw it away. Please bring back the old recipe!!

I have been eating multigrain Cheerios every morning for several years now and this last box that I bought is different. Not a fan of the new taste and texture. I’m not sure why it’s different, but it has a mealy texture that I don’t care for.

Not truly heart healthy

I just read a comment that Cheerio company representatives put out stating this product is “….heart healthy”; however, the carbs and sugar are inflammatory, thus more damaging to the heart and circulatory system than the smaller benefit gained from the soluble fiber. Having said this, plain Cheerios with less sugar is a better choice because like Honey Nut, it has a prebiotic effect from the fiber. It is a long stretch stating “heart healthy”.

I am so disappointed that the whole grain sorghum was removed from Multigrain cheerios!! That was the main reason I bought this product :( Why was it removed?
1 reply from Cheerios team - 3 months ago
Our product formulations and ingredient sources do change from time to time and unfortunately the curret formulation does not contain sorghum however we will let our team know that you'd like to see sorghum in our Multi Grain Cheerios again.

Despite boasting 28g of whole grain it has less fiber than the original and more added sugar. Like a lot more added sugar. This should be illegal and shame on this company for promoting this as a healthier option.

These are as sweet as desert and so not an option for me. Loved them as a kid, pretty sure they’ve changed. 8g added sugar in a 39g serving makes this cereal over 20% sugar by volume

General Mills top priority is food safety and has been for over 150 years. Most crops grown in fields use some form of pesticides and trace amounts are found in the majority of food we all eat. Experts at the FDA and EPA determine the safe levels for food products. These are very strict rules that we follow as do farmers who grow crops. We continue to work closely with farmers, our suppliers and conservation organizations to minimize the use of pesticides on the ingredients we use in our foods.

Bought because Target had these listed as gluten free, and confirmed the box says so too - only to get horribly sick from this cereal and come to find out Cheerios uses oats cross-contaminated with wheat and they don't test their food. And of course I got a box with wheat in it. Will never trust Cheerios again.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience. While we are confident our product is Gluten-Free, we know that there will always be people who suffer from allergies and other conditions that prevent them from eating gluten free Cheerios. We recommend you talk to your doctor, especially if you have sensitivity to oat products. If you feel that you need further assistance from us please contact us via our website generalmills.com. Thanks
