A: Nasoya Udon Noodles are a good source of protien and are Cholestoral Free as well as low in fats and calories. If you use all of the sauce, they are high in sodium.

Not plant based!
The noodles were good, but Target was selling this as part of a promotion of plant based food, and this contains fish. I guess I should have read the label more closely, but it definitely shouldn't have been identified by Target as plant based! I ate the noodles with a different soup base I had, and they were tasty and filling. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's Target's error, not the noodles.

Contains meat
I hate to rate this one star because the package contains meat even though the site says otherwise. The Katsuo soup base contains fish, including anchovy, skipjack tuna, mackerel, tuna, croaker, and cutlassfish. However, I guess the product isn't that bad for people who don't mind eating fish, or rather traces of it. The taste is decent, it's easy to prepare, and the price isn't bad.

picture on package is misleading
Package picture has fish cakes, which is misleading. Have to read fine print at bottom to see that you won't be getting everything shown in the pic. Still, good flavor, but not enough seasoning for 1 cup water per instructions; somewhat bland if you use 1 cup of water. If you use less than 1 cup, it'll be less bland but then you don't have enough broth to enjoy. So Nasoya, please give us more seasoning sauce and some fish cakes.

Great tasting udon when you’re in a pinch to make this at home. On par with ones you would buy at Asian supermarket. Happy Target carries this udon. One thing to note is that soup seasoning to water ratio is a bit off. I wish there was a bit more seasoning so you can make more soup for udon noodles to sit in w/o diluting the taste. I like my noodles swimming in plenty of broth.

Honestly, I don't make soup out of this, so I toss the flavor packets. I just use the noodles to make a Japanese pan-style noodle. The texture is perfect! Chewy but firm. Holds sauce well.
