Q: Does this cause nausea and upset stomach like other iron supplements?

  • A: I'm extra sensitive and felt nothing, but, when my iron started to replenish and the processes of elimination of excessive iron started in, the constipation started in. Just lowered the dose. These along with red meat and cast iron cooking raised my levels back to normal just a few months. And yet the Dr wanted me to get infusion. These were a very great choice!!!

    Works just right

    Just enough, plus C makes Iron activate. People eat iron fortified cereal but once you put milk on it, the iron won't work at all. Best to take these gummies with C about two hours after other vitamins and dairy, and no stomach upset at all. I just had my bloodwork redone and my iron is back in range. I'm 84.

    I can’t swallow pills so finding an iron supplement that will work was hard. I have very low ferritin and after only 3 weeks my levels rose from an 11 to a 23. The taste is fine any iron u take will have a metal ish taste but these are not bad at all. They have vitamin c for absorption and no belly ache.

    People complaining about the taste are missing the point. Since when do supplements taste amazing? The flavor is fine, nothing terrible. What does matter is that it works. I’m on my third bottle, my iron levels have improved, and it doesn’t mess with my stomach like other iron supplements. I’ll keep buying it.

    They do their job:) my biggest problem with them is the taste.. It's okay to begin with but then after a few seconds I get FLOODED with the iron taste.. makes me gag.. I choose the gummies bcs supplement pills are huge and I already struggle to swallow pills. for these I have to chew them a few times and then just swallow them whole to get past the iron taste :'). they are also incredibly sticky? I have melatonin from a different brand in the gummy form and they are no where near to sticky like these are ://. Once I finish the bottle, i probably invest in another brand

    needs to be stored upside down

    not really sure how to rate this... it's too hard to get the gummies out if stored upright since they all stick to the bottom. honestly if they just made a shorter jar for them it would have been better. the gummies taste ok, a little bit powdery but not bad. not sure if they're working even after 2+ months, I would not get these again since I can't tell if they're helping. I think the iron content is too low for me.

    Sticky, tastes like blood, perfect for vampires

    Really dislike these! The gummies stick to my teeth, and despite being sweet and fruity, they have a most sickening taste of blood. You know, like when you’re 5 years old and you have a bad cut on your arm and naturally you lick it….gross.

    These are fantastic

    Don't listen to the people who claim it tastes awful, as it tastes fine for what it is. It's a supplement, not candy; you're not eating it because of how delicious it tastes, you're eating it because you need it. Exact same concept with vegetables. Because it's iron, there's no real avoiding the metal-y taste no matter what supplement you choose (even the chalky tablets will faintly taste of the metal). I love these gummies, and I prefer these gummies to the regular tablets for several reasons: 1. They don't cause me as severe constipation 2. They can be cut into smaller doses for more control over how much you in-take (ideal for people whose levels fluctuate) 3. Because they are soft gummies and not hard tablets, they go down easier on my throat. 4. They don't cause me stomach pains/cramps like the tablets often do. When I'm really iron-deficient, they can even taste amazing as I start to actually CRAVE that metal taste and the berry flavor makes it better. I hope (and pray) that Nature Made never stops making these all because of the "bad taste" complaints, as I don't know what I would do if I had to go back to regular tablets again...

    Y'know, great supplement in itself, but awful. taste. Tastes like straight up blood, and hard to get rid of the after taste after finishing it. Do yourself a favor, if you need an iron supplement, dont get it in a chewable form.

    Awful taste

    Thought this would be a fun way for my 13 year old daughter to take iron but after I tasted one I will not be giving it to her. The taste is horrible but the worst thing is the after taste you get is so awful and no matter what I ate the taste is still there. No I do not recommend. Do not waste your money on these.

    Take an iron supplement; save others' lives

    I give platelets to the Red Cross. This lowers my iron. Therefore I started taking Iron 18mg Gummies to keep my iron level up. I take one gummy each day in the afternoon and this has worked. I can give platelets every other week and I do not have have any problems with taking an iron supplement. I recommend that anyone who is able, gives whole blood or platelets to haelp save someone's life.
