Setting up hardware on a shared or public Wi-Fi network can vary based on things like security settings. The installation does need the router and this plugged in in the same room until it is configured, which can also be a factor with public/shared Wi-Fi. My Netgear WiFi Extender
I Love It!!!!!! It works great, both 2.4g and 5g signals. Only suggestion that would make it perfect would be to have a physical port for wired Internet connection to a physical device, e.g. Xbox. Other than that, price and performance are superb! Thanks Netgear!

Made my life easier

Love it, good range
Needed to be able to extend the range of my WiFi so that all of my outdoor devices and cameras got signal and this Range Extender let me get signal everywhere I needed it. Only four stars because set up is trickier than expected.

I only gave 4 stars so far bc I just got the unit a week ago, but so far it's doing good. My son is able to stream movies on his tv instead of on his game because of the Internet not reaching to his room.

Amazing product that excels all expectations!!
This product is amazing does exactly as advertised and goes above and beyond all expectations. It boosts my internet speed by triple and allows for a 5G connection with multiple devices and extends my Wi-Fi connection throughout my two-story home
