Q: I purchased this and it arrived last evening. Why are parabens listed on the ingredients on the box when stated above this doesn't contain parabens?
submitted by HolidayHeart - 1 year ago
A: Our Norwegian hand formula is not formulated with Parabens! If your packaging states this in the ingredients, we'd love to learn more about this, as that would be an incorrect printing. When you have a moment, please give us a call at 1-800-582-4048 anytime M-F between 9am-5:30pm ET so that we can hear from you!

A: Neutrogena reformulated this product recently (maybe in the last year or two?) so it's likely that you received a package of the old formula, that did contain parabens. The new formula does not.

A: Hello HolidayHeart! Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream is formulated without fragrance, dyes, phthalates and parabens. Here is the list of ingredients for quick reference. Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin -Hope that helps!

Q: Is the hand lotion thick or thin?
submitted by Wendy - 3 years ago
A: Hi Wendy. The formula is concentrated so you'll only need a small amount of product and it would be considered thicker. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with!
submitted byJohnson & Johnson - 3 years ago
Brand expert
A: quick answer: yes.
It's the thickness and consistency of aquaphor, if you've used that before. It's clear-ish like neosporin and amazing for the winter. It's absolutely wonderful, if you are an eczema sufferer, like myself. It is an absolute MUST if you ski/snowboard and deal with windburn. It's gentle enough to use on extremely sensitive cracked skin.
The fragrance-free version of this hand cream is truly fragrance-free. This is what I grab when I have an eczema flare up but don't need my super expensive medicated stuff.

submitted by Mum23 - 5 months ago
A: Thanks for asking, we're sorry we didn't get back to you right away! This product was reformulated in August of 2021. We replaced the preservative ingredients and removed fragrance to better adjust to needs of our consumers with sensitive skin <3

Q: Is this product gluten free?
submitted by SBK - 4 years ago
A: Hi there! This product does not contain gluten. Thanks for your question!
I saw someone recommend this after trying everything for eczema on their hands, decided to give it a try as well. It works great! Always used aquaphor before but it’s more oily, this Neutrogena hand cream is more like an aquaphor lotion, absorbs into the hands better. I highly recommend if you have the annoying eczema all over your hands! A little goes a long ways and very affordable!!

This formula not only moisturizes my cracked winter hands, but it protects them all day, even after multiple hand washings. I apply in the am when I start my day and reapply in the afternoon then before bed.

I’ll be completely honest and say that I have not purchased this item for a very long time, and because of more recent reviews, I don’t plan on purchasing it now. Again, yet another company has decided to create a new formula that has many previously loyal customers rather disappointed. I am hoping as manufacturers get wind of losing potential and existing customers, they will understand that cheapening their products does not work. Neutrogena has decided

Best hand cream, Small container

As a gardener, homemaker and scratch cook, I wash my hands upwards of 100 times a day. This hand cream is an absolutely essential part of that routine. It's the only thing I've found that keeps my fingertips from cracking. I've been using this hand cream for a couple of years now and it's hands down the best I've found. It doesn't have 50 extra unnecessary ingredients or fragrances, its simple and effective. I recommend it to anyone who will listen. The only issue I have is with the size. It's perfect to throw in my purse, but I find myself going through about a tube every month or so having it at all 3 sinks. I would love a larger pump style container to sit next to my soap dispensers. Or better yet, a gallon refill with a reusable pump. I feel like the current packaging contains a lot of unnecessary plastic waste for such a good product.

I found this stuff in the early 2000's when I was a Wildland firefighter. My hands would get SO dry from my leather gloves getting wet then drying over and over, and pulling every last bit of moisture out of my hands. I would put a good portion on my hands before bed and they would be completely restored by morning. Now after 20 years, and doing construction and a lot of tile work, where my hands are in and out of water all day and using materials like grout and thin set which are horribly drying to the skin, this is still hands down the best product I've ever found. I have tried all the brands that claim they are the best for dry hands, corn huskers, bag balm, working hands.... None of them come close to this. My only complaint is I wish there was a bigger size. But they are true to their claim, just a dab heals dry hands.

It works. But it’s hard to rub it evenly and leaves the hands white if you don’t rub more than 10 seconds on the spot where you apply it

Finally a long lasting intense hand cream that actually works. At first it goes on white and is thick like Vaseline but it absorbs quick and is not greasy or has a heavy feeling. I wash my hands a lot working with children and it’s also a life saver for the dry winter season!

Love the cream, have been using it every day for more than 10 years! I remember when it was $3.99 and now it cost $5.99. Back then $3.99 was pretty expensive for that cream. They used to have a consentrate, which was even better than the cream, however I don't see it anymore. I think they stopped making it.
