Q: Does this rug have a smell? One of the reviews said it had an awful chemical smell but it is Oeko-Tex certified. I am very sensitive to smells so don't want to order if that is the case.

A: Hello If your rug has a smell you can follow the below steps to help dissipate it. Sprinkle Baking Soda: Generously sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of the carpet. Make sure to spread it out evenly to create a thin coat. Let It Sit: Allow the baking soda to sit for several hours, or even overnight if possible. This will give it time to absorb any odors trapped in the fibers of the rug. Keep the Area Clear: During this time, it's important to keep pets and children away from the treated area to ensure safety and effectiveness. Vacuum: After the baking soda has had time to work, vacuum it up thoroughly. Be sure to monitor your vacuum cleaner bag or canister, as baking soda can fill it quickly. Thank you

I bought this rug because it was Oeko-Tex certified and it smells just awful - like someone poured lighter fluid on it. I don’t know how long it will take for it to air out. So if you dislike awful VOC smell, I wouldn’t recommend it. Other Nourison rugs have been fine!
