Absolutely loving this stain! I was a bit worried after reading several reviews talking about the gloss separating. I definitely won’t discredit the experience of others. I did encounter a tiny bit of separating in one gloss I purchased from in store. It is pretty common for these types of glosses in general, but so far, I’ve only experienced it once. I’m sure it has to do with how old it is, if it’s closed properly, temperature, etc. Given the price and how much I enjoy how moisturizing it is and how pretty the stains are, it definitely doesn’t deter me from purchasing again and again! As far as shades, I’m SO grateful to see Petal Pourin! I have not seen this shade anywhere else besides the website and I’m so glad I came here to look! I was desperate to find a lighter shade that wasn’t so nude. I love Blush Rush and Bubblegum Burst (I think that’s the name?) but against my lighter complexion, they look a bit bright for every day wear. I also tried Hydra Honey, which was too nude, and Drippin in Roses (again, not totally sure about the name), which was also pretty, but a bit too brown. Petal Pourin is gorgeous. It’s a little bit more nude than I’d typically go for, but it leans pink so it works! And the stain it leaves is my absolute favorite so far! Natural, but better than my bare lips! Overall, I will definitely keep purchasing these! They are such a great alternative to the usual drying stains.

Separation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a good product for about a week or so and then the color started separating and that was a huge let down. I think it’s a product that needs to be fixed or recalled. It is very messy and just caused way too many problems.

Lip stain split after one wear
The two colors I have I loved, but the color split on both this week. It’s ruined and completely unwearable (even shaking won’t mix the color back). One of the colors I have only owned for a few days. I tried it on once, packed it for vacation, and it was bad by the time I got here. The other lasted a few months. Looking online this is a known issue.

This usually happens because the oils in our food act like a natural makeup remover, breaking down the lip stain. Two tips to make it last longer: The "Layer & Blot" Method: Apply one thin layer, let it dry completely (about 2 minutes), blot with a tissue, and then apply a second thin layer. This "stains" the lips more deeply. Avoid the Center: Most fading starts at the inner part of the lips. Applying a tiny bit of matching lip liner just to the center of your lips before the stain can give it more "grip." A better recommendation: If you want a stain that truly survives dinner, we suggest the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick. It provides the high-pigment look of a stain but is specifically formulated to be "eating and drinking proof."

It's pretty good
It works great but I've only had it for a month and the color is separating. I opened it today and there was color dye separated from the product just chilling in the gloss. It is a pain to remix.

I want a refund
The formula is great for the first few weeks and then it separates and never truly mixes correctly again. I have scoured the internet and there are no fixes to this problem. Nyx should have recalled the product, it’s not sustainable in anyway and crappy to us long time customers of Nyx cosmetics.

Fell in love with this product after I got the shade Espresso Soak in the early summer of 2025. Ever since it's been an everyday product for me, a definite go-to for any occasion. Many of the different shades are actually very flattering on me, which isn't common in my experience. (I have fair cool olive skin.) After all this time of using it, I've found that it works best as a sealant for moisture, more so than a provider of it. I don't get desirable results when applying this directly to dry, chapped lips, however- applying this after thoroughly moisturizing and exfoliating, my lips are then able to retain the moisture for hours at a time, and can be extended with reapplications. I love how customizable the formula is, you get several different shades all in one tube with how it can be as sheer or as opaque as you want and still be comfortable. My favorite way to use it is to apply it layered on at full opacity, then let it wear off over time, slowly revealing the stain underneath, then reapplying when the stain starts to wear off too. I already have many shades and still plan on trying more, I've got my eyes set on Hydra Honey next!

I wanted to love this but it’s messy and it was separating for me and this super dark red liquid spilled out onto my desk one day and it will not come out. I threw it away. I normally love nyx products.

A Shame
First of all, I was sent the serum NOT the stain, but since Target has no way of speaking to a real person about a return, I had no choice but to keep it. Secondly, the set wet shade is not red when put on, it turns a bright fuchsia (which is not my color at all.) So in both regards its not what I needed, though it does feel a bit hydrating.

Pretty but so drying
I chose this color as i thought it was similar to clinique’s black honey. Its quite similar. This gloss has some shine but not too crazy but the thing i really dont like is how badly these dry out the lips, i put on a lip mask before applying and after a couple of hours with the gloss on my lips were so chapped.
