Description

This plant-based product is perfectly creamy without all the saturated fats you usually get when you drink something creamy. In fact, while whole cow's milk has 5 g of saturated fat per serving, Oatly Full Fat Oatmilk only has 1 g. “Then why is it called Full Fat,” you ask? Well, this one's more about unsaturated fat (it has a lot!). So if you don't have a yacht but still want to flaunt your luxurious lifestyle, you can brag about the nice, fat oatmilk you're gulping.

Before you go, we’d like to mention this product has DHA in addition to the other awesome vitamins, calcium and minerals found in all Oatly oatmilks. So if you're a person who currently drinks full fat cow's milk with DHA, it seems like you might be into switching to this Full Fat Oatmilk with DHA, especially since you're here reading a full fat oatmilk description on the internet and everything.

Q: How does this have "7g added sugars" when there's no sugar in the ingredients list?

submitted by Sleepy - 2 years ago
  • A: Error most likely. I have found numerous errors on Target's food items.

submitted byAnnoyedbygreed - 1 year ago
  • A: FDA guidelines around sugar created during the processing of oats. From Oatly's FAQ: Our oatmilks (aside from the Chocolate) don’t contain any added sweeteners like cane sugar, which is why they’re not listed as an ingredient. The sugar in our oatmilk is produced during our enzymatic production process. Basically, we use natural enzymes to liquefy our oats, which enables us to create a really creamy product that retains a lot of the nutrition from the original oat (like protein, unsaturated fats, fibers, and carbs). As part of this process, the enzymes break the starches in our oats down into smaller components, including simple sugar like maltose. It’s comparable to how the human body uses enzymes to break starches down into sugars during digestion. You can read more about this process here. FDA guidance on sugar labeling now provides that any sugar created during a product’s production process should be categorized as 'added', which is why these sugars are listed as 'added sugar' on our nutrition labels.

Q: why does the label information for this item not list the added sugar as an ingredient?

  • A: The sugar is not added seprately. Instead the way that they process the oats breaks it down into an "oat sugar" which is why they have to classify it as an added sugar on the nutritional label.

Q: The ingredients show that this contains Omega 3. Does it have any fishy taste or smell?

submitted by Cat - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi there! Regarding Omega-3 content in our Full Fat Oatmilk, we use an algal-based vegan DHA. This ingredient is identified on our label as "DHA algal oil". For more information on our full ingredient list, please see our US product page: https://us.oatly.com/products/full-fat-oatmilk-chilled. Thanks!

submitted byOatly - 3 years ago
  • A: Absolutely no fishy smell or taste whatsoever.

Q: Is this made in a facility that also handles nuts?

submitted by sk - 6 years ago
  • A: Per their website, their oat milk is produced in facilities that handle coconut, but not tree nuts or peanuts.

submitted byGoldfinch - 6 years ago
  • A: The perishable refrigerated 1/2 gallons are produced in a nut free facility. The shelf stable quart tetra pacs are made in a facility shared with nuts.

submitted byCharros - 6 years ago

Q: Were these oats sourced from a place that uses glysophates?

submitted by Aaron - 6 years ago
  • A: From their website No. We carefully source our oats from our trusted supplier, Grain Millers. Grain Millers provides their farmers with a comprehensive support program that fosters a number of sustainable agricultural practices, including avoiding the use of glyphosate on their oats. In fact, Grain Millers has required that their farmers not use glyphosate on their oats since 2015 and conducts random, weekly sampling and testing to validate their farmers' compliance. You can read more about their glyphosate policy here. Additionally, our oatmilk is certified glyphosate residue free by The Detox Project. As part of this certification, we submit our finished oatmilk to a qualified third party lab on a random, quarterly basis to have it tested for glyphosate residue. Because both our raw oats and our finished oatmilk are tested regularly for glyphosate, we’re able to ensure that our oatmilk is always fully compliant with the specifications for glyphosate residue free products.

Q: Does this oat milk froth well?

submitted by 625sandwichstacker - 3 months ago
  • A: Oatly’s Super Basic Oatmilk is a lighter drink that works well in cereal and smoothies, comparable in function to skim cow’s milk. It can foam. The Barista Edition Oatmilk is a creamier oatmilk specifically designed specifically for foaming and frothing in coffee, if you’d like to take a look at that option.

They raised the price 50 cents sometime recently. This is super disappointing as it was already an investment at $4.99 when we buy 2-4 of them a month. Bummer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a month of using Oatly Original Oatmilk, it’s become a staple in my kitchen. The texture is smooth and creamy—closer to whole milk than most plant-based alternatives—and it works really well in coffee, cereal, and smoothies. It steams beautifully for lattes, which has been a big plus for my morning routine. The flavor is mild with a natural oat sweetness that doesn’t overpower whatever you're adding it to. It’s also shelf-stable before opening, which makes it easy to keep on hand. I appreciate that it’s dairy-free, vegan, and doesn’t have any weird aftertaste like some other non-dairy milks. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricier than other oat milks, but the quality and consistency make it worth it for me. Overall, a great go-to for anyone looking to cut back on dairy without sacrificing taste or texture.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my daughter who is lactose intolerant. She always enjoyed chocolate milk until it started making her feel uneasy. She thoroughly enjoyed this milk, and could drink it happily knowing she wouldn’t have an upset stomach after. The taste is chocolatey and creamy. Easy to drink and enjoy with ice. The packaging is a great size she can take them to school for lunch. I would recommend and will be buying more !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really loved everything about this oatmilk pack! For starters, I loved how smooth and creamy it was to drink. The portion size is also perfect for a single-portion! I used these to make my protein drinks in the morning, and it really made the flavor not only palatable versus using coffee or water, but truly flavorful! As someone who is lactose intolerant, I can’t have regular milk, so this is the best possible alternative, and what’s even better is it doesn’t have a negative impact on the environment like almond milk does. You can feel truly wonderful using this product. I thoroughly enjoyed every last drop of these, and would definitely purchase again in the six pack version!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll start this off by saying I am not a huge chocolate milk person but I think that’s because milk has just never sat well in my stomach. That being said, I do like that. There is now an option for the lactose intolerant to still have chocolate milk.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oatly’s Chocolate Oat Milk is a deliciously rich and creamy plant-based alternative that doesn’t taste like a compromise. It strikes a great balance between indulgence and health-consciousness—with just enough sweetness to satisfy a chocolate craving without feeling overly sugary. The texture is smooth and satisfying, with a slightly thicker mouthfeel than traditional dairy milk, which makes it perfect for drinking straight, pouring over cereal, or blending into smoothies. Bonus: it’s dairy-free, vegan, and fortified with essential nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. If you’re looking for a dairy-free chocolate milk that actually tastes good and feels good, this one’s a winner.

Switched from dairy to oat milk years ago. For me, Oatly is the best. Full Fat version is my go-to. I use it primarily for shakes and having a glass w/ meals. It also is great for chocolate milk and for adding to tea, though it does leave a bit of a granular residue at the bottom of the cup, which is normal for oat milk and doesn't bother me. I buy usually buy three of these a week, pending Target has it in stock - which is usually a 75% success rate. So Oatly! IF YOU'RE LISTENING, make these in gallon sizes! Much love from a big Oatly fan!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this product even more than I expected to! It won't trick anyone into thinking it is actual dairy chocolate milk, but is delicious in its own way. It tastes like oat milk, but that has actual high quality cocoa in it rather than some that taste like "chocolate flavoring" or chocolate syrup with additives. It is sweet, but not overly so and makes for a really refreshing treat. The ingredients are minimal and seem to be high quality. The texture is exactly what you want it to be, very smooth and creamy. The nutrition facts are pretty good, some added vitamins, kind of a lot of sugar, but nothing crazy considering that it is a treat and not something I plan to drink large quantities of. I love the little tetrapaks that it comes in as I can easily carry one in my purse when I am out and about. I don't need to avoid nuts or gluten, but it is nice that this is nut and gluten free because it means it is safe for kids school lunches. At my house we originally were pescatarian, but have now eliminated all dairy and meat as we have found so many awesome vegan products, that we don't even miss our old diets.
