    Mold mold mold!

Second one I’ve bought thinking it was the way my daughter stored her toothbrush that was causing the mold. I even wrote to oral B the first time this happened and they said no way that could happen unless we did something wrong. Did everything right for sure this time and still black water and mold coming out of the head and the unit itself! Gross.

My kiddos wanted electric toothbrushes like mom and dad’s for some time and we finally got them these. They love their toothbrushes and they work great, one suggestion to the manufacturer would be to add a little cover for the bristles for when they are done brushing and are sitting out on the counter.

    Mold!

Coming here to complain like many of the other comments. This toothbrush allows mold to grow and it’s disgusting. Constantly changing out the brush heads every few weeks is too costly. I do not have this issue with the adult electric toothbrushes in our home.

We never want you to feel disappointed when using your Oral-B Kid's Electric Toothbrush. Our products undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure they reach you in perfect condition, providing the ultimate teeth-cleaning experience. Oral-B brush heads are designed with openings to allow water to flush through the brush head tube and let air inside. This venting ensures the brush head dries sufficiently after use and reduces moisture inside the tube. What you have described can occur if the brush is stored in a location exposed to mold, bacteria, or comes into contact with corrosive ingredients. Certain ingredients used in products can make the plastic porous, allowing dirt and moisture to find places to settle. To avoid this, it's important to always rinse your brush head thoroughly after each use to prevent residue from building up and blocking the openings. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we'd like to learn more about your experience and help further. When you have a moment, please give us a call at 1-800-566-7252, 9 am-6 pm EST, Monday-Friday.

    Awful

Got 2 of these and both stopped working after a couple uses . Trash!

We’re sorry to hear that both of your toothbrushes are not working as expected. Our toothbrushes undergo numerous quality checks to ensure optimal performance. We will share your feedback with our Quality Team. Meanwhile, we recommend the following troubleshooting tips for your toothbrushes: 1. Please turn off your toothbrush before placing it on the charger. 2. Make sure you do not charge it on or near a metal surface, as this can interfere with the electromagnetic charger. For example, sinks with a steel or metal core, like porcelain, may cause interference. 3. Try using a different power outlet, or charge another device with the same outlet. If these suggestions do not resolve your issue, we'd be happy to assist you further so you can return to your best brushing routine. Please call us at (800) 566-7252.

    MOLD

Don’t buy. Noticed black water dripping out when brushing my son’s teeth. Took off the brush head and there was mold inside. Disappointed as the toothbrush itself works very well. Trashed it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, Amy. We can understand how frustrating and somewhat alarming it can be to find residue of any kind coming from your toothbrush, especially when it's your child's. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we have many quality checks to ensure all products are of the highest quality. Please know that there’s nothing in our toothbrush components that would cause mold. Mold requires organic material to grow, which isn’t present in our brushes. Buildup can occur from regular use, even after rinsing, as water and toothpaste can harden over time on the brush head and handle. Depending on your toothpaste and water hardness, it can sometimes leave a residue that varies in color. We'd like to help further and learn more, and invite you to give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

    Design allow mold

The design allow for mold in between the brush head and the body. The battery life is bad as well

We're very sorry to hear you experienced mold and charging issues with your toothbrush, Amy, and we're happy to help you. Please know that there’s nothing in our toothbrush components that would cause mold before use. Mold requires organic material to grow, which isn’t present in our brushes. While it’s rare, mold can develop after use if the brush is stored in a damp area or comes into contact with certain cleaning agents or soaps that can make the plastic porous. To prevent this, rinse the brush head under running water with the handle on. Then switch it off, remove the head, clean both parts separately, and dry them before reattaching. While we offer a 2-year warranty on most brushes, it does not cover damage from normal wear, misuse, or failure to maintain the product properly. When charging, please make sure your brush has been powered off before putting it on the charger. Ensure that you are not charging on or near a metal surface – this can interfere with the electromagnetic charger and also try another outlet to ensure it's not the outlet. Also, make sure he brush is placed on the charging pin correctly (it has a non-symmetrical shape). We're happy to help you and answer any questions you may have. Please call us at (800) 566-7252 so we can do so.

    Head design allows for mold

Unfortunately throwing this away immediately. The toothbrush itself works great, but the small hole on the head allows for mold growth within the head very quickly. I am shocked with this design flaw and will be purchasing our daughter a different brand.

    Dissapointing

I purchased this for my 4 year old. This toothbrush is way too loud for a child. He refuses to use it due to the loud sound, which defeats the purpose of a kid-friendly design. Coming from a company known for quality, this was a letdown. He already uses a disposable electirc toothbrush from a different brand so it's not like switching to electric from maual is the problem.

We always want our consumers, especially our younger ones, to feel comfortable when using our products, and we are disappointed to hear that your Oral-B Kids Electric Toothbrush was loud while in use, Sarah. We understand that the preferences of the users of our products may vary, and we do our best to offer a wide variety of toothbrushes in hopes that you will find one that your kids will love. If you have not already tried it, we would recommend using the sensitive mode, as this should help to reduce the level of noise and offer a gentle and effective cleaning. While we will be sure to share your feedback with our Quality Team, we would love a chance to learn more so we are better able to assist you, and invite you to give our team a call at (800) 566-7252.

For some reason ours stopped working, not sure if it’s due to the charger or brush. However I love that we can switch the brush head to another toothbrush.

    Doesn't stay on

Just purchased this toothbrush for my daughter and it only works for 10 seconds and shuts off. We’ve examined the charger, changed outlets, tried using the charger from our other daughter, etc. and nothing is working. Hope I can get my money back even though I threw away the box.

    Choking hazard

This toothbrush almost choked our 3.5 year old. The brush head fell off while brushing his back teeth and became lodged in his throat. Luckily my wife was there to pull it out, but it’s a dangerous product.
    1 reply from Oral-B team - 3 months ago
The well-being and comfort, especially of our younger consumers, are our top priorities. We are glad to hear that your wife was there to assist, and we hope that everyone is doing well now. Please know that all of our products go through extensive testing to ensure their quality and safety, and the brush head coming detached during use is not at all something we would expect. We are sure this goes without saying, but we would recommend discontinuing the use of this toothbrush. That being said, we would greatly appreciate a chance to learn more about your experience so we are better able to assist you as well as gather the most detailed information for our Quality and Safety Teams, and encourage you to give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

We never want you to feel disappointed when investing in a new toothbrush, so we're sorry to hear your Oral-B Kids' Electric Toothbrushes are having issues with holding a charge. We have numerous quality checks to ensure only the best products reach you. Oral-B electric toothbrushes should last between 3-5 years, so this isn't something we'd expect. When charging your toothbrush, it must be powered off before placing it on the charger. We also recommend charging your toothbrush away from any metal surface, as it can interfere with the electromagnetic charger. We'd love to learn more and help troubleshoot your toothbrushes. MOLD

MOLD - this has a huge design flaw where even when you change the head, mold grows almost immediately. Way too expensive to just be throwing away.
    1 reply from Oral-B team - 4 months ago
We understand the importance of knowing your child's toothbrush is sanitary, and we are disappointed to hear that you experienced mold with your Oral-B Kids Electric Toothbrush. All of our products go through extensive testing to ensure their quality and performance, and this is not the experience that we would like you to have. Since mold requires organic material to grow, this can sometimes happen if there is toothpaste residue left over after brushing or if the brush is stored somewhere it is accessible to bacteria. To help prevent this in the future, we would recommend thoroughly rinsing the brush while it is still running, then turning the brush off, removing the head from the base, and drying it with a towel. After towel drying you should then let the brush head fully air dry before placing it back on the brush. While we would expect these tips to resolve the issue, we would love a chance to learn more about your experience so we are able to better assist you as well as get some additional information to our Quality Team, and invite you to give us a call at (800) 566-7252.
