All you have to-do is set the switch to on and it will solar charge. At dusk the lanterns will light up on their own and turn off on in daylight. These have 2 color options, one white the other a ambiance light which is my favorite. These are wonderful for sitting on your deck or porch but one of my favorite features is being able to carrying with me when needed extra light. These are a must for those who love camping. The Solar lanterns are made very well and durable.

I loved the way they light up and have two different colors. The switches on the top are so easy to use. These lanturns are perfect for outside or inside. I would use them as a night light or when the power goes out instead of flashlights or candles. These lanterns are going to get alot of use around my house.

If you have access to direct sunlight during the day you should be fine, but I have mostly indirect light on my balcony. They seem study, but they are made of plastic, not metal. They are lightweight so they could blow around in high wind.

I will most likely purchase more of these for my back deck. I will definately reccomend these to my family and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these as a gift and I love it! They hold a charge really well and brighten up the porch. Set up was easy to install. They are great for the end of the path to our walk way. It brightens up a decent radius around it as well.

I used tea cup hooks and hung them from the lantern handles. They fully charge during the day and come on automatically at dusk. I prefer the white light to the amber option. I was surprised at the brightness of the lanterns although it is not too harsh thanks to the frosted panels. I couldn’t be happier with them.

I charged them in my home, it took just a couple hours. The light it emits is not too bright but just the right amount. I like that I can change whether the light is amber or white.

I figured they would be large enough to stand on their for decor purposes, and I'm afraid I'll probably have to pair them with something else or they will seem quite small for a large area. The light is easy to work. We plan on using the white light more often but the frosted glass is a nice touch.
