Prang® Triangular Colored Pencils, 5.5 mm core, With Sharpener, Assorted Colors, 12 Count

These replaced the PRANG 6mm core years ago. Losing a little lead thickness was unfortunate but the trade off was better colors. When the 5.5mm core was introduced, there was a 24 color set available but it was discontinued after a while. I miss the 24 set but if it can't be re-released, perhaps PRANG would consider ditching the gold and silver colored pencils (useless) in favor of maybe a yellow-green, peach or even gray.

While I like the way your pencils perform I was disappointed in the 72 set that they did not have the colors written on the pencils like the smaller sets. I can't make a color chart. I wanted to contact the company and found no info to do so.

I WISH WISH WISH that these came in : a 24 pack a skin color pack and bulk so we could order just black for example!!!!

I love these pencils! I bought some individual pencils years ago and I really liked them. I would love to find some individual colors now. They are very smooth and I love coloring with them.

I bought this a month ago and I regret it. These pencils can't even draw.

My boys love these. They are excelent quality and have lasted more than a year and still look like new. I cant say that about any other brand I've bought. I wish there was more colors in this format.

Perfect for holding and coloring! No paper to peel off or crayon to break in half or pencils that all the time. These are perfect

We use these all throughout our Primary school in Canada with over 100 students. They work exceptionaly well, the color is vibrant, they are easy to sharpen and the thick lead doesn't break. The students have an easy grip thanks to the soft triangular shape. Good product.

Exemplary pencil crayons! The triangle shape assists students that are developing their fine motor skills and correct tripod pencil grasp. I was worried the colours would not be vibrant, but they are fantastic! Good saturation of colour on the page with moderate pressure. I would highly recommend...and no, I did not receive any endorsement for this review. Just pleasantly surprised! :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy pencils like this to burn through. For artist quality, I need the top notch expensive ones, but I can’t use those all the time. My usual go to is crayola because of their ability to burnish. These pencils surprised me a lot because I could burnish with them! They didn’t take as well to solvent, but they did the job using a whole pencil on top to burnish. My kids learned on these pencils, so that’s saying something impressive.

This is an adults perspective. My mother bought me a set at least 15-20 yrs ago. It has sketch pencils included. A very nice hard case that can expand to stand up on its own. About 110 pieces all together. I was 100% that kid who wouldn't allow anyone to use my art supplies. Even through high school I had a pouch of pencils and pens specifically to lend out. Because I didn't care if they were given back or destroyed. Fast forward to now. I haven't had the time or motivation for coloring for several years. but recently got a new tattoo and I have time off work. Though color will be decided later, I wanted to play around with the design. For some reason I had a pack of like 70 pencils in a wide range of color and brought those out. Immediately they were packed away. Impossible to vary saturation or blend, dull color, not impressed. I pulled out my Prang set and remembered why Ive kept them for 20ish years. Unbelievably smooth, a single pencil can achieve countless shades depending on pressure. Durable (again, these are old), and for gradient color I'm not sure you could make it better. I've gotten into reviews lately and wanted to express my delight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great set of pencils for beginners. These seem to be very durable and excellent quality. The colors seem good though the red is more of a light almost pink color VS a bright vibrant red. Overall we like this and I would definitely recommend these. We have used these in the coloring books and on paper and in sketch books. My daughter has really enjoyed them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] easy to use. i found the pencils to be easy to sharpen when dull, they dont have a lot of smuges when using them. the brush was a little on the thick side for what I was using the colors for but it was easy to easy and the strokes were clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They’re actually pretty neat. I love the way they work. It allows you to draw with them with precision (not easy with regular water colors) and then water them down for the water color look. The outcome is very nice and consistent.
