Amazing TV - Shame about the remote
Bought the 83" G5 in June 2025. I'm extremely satisfied with the picture quality, ease of use, motion handling and look and feel of the TV itself. Unfortunately, it's brought down by the remote control. Physically the remote feels less premium and comfortable to hold compared to my previous TV (LG B8). Worse still, the scroll wheel/main select button has just snapped and fallen into the remote making the remote unusable. Not acceptable for an 8 month old device.

Must Buy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, it’s impressive how vibrant the color is, how high-quality it is, and how light it is. The TV is amazing. The control is great; I could move it easily. We love it so much. The value for the price is great, and it looks very durable. I must buy it.

Amazing Picture Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After upgrading to a G5 83" (from my old C9 77), I was pleasantly surprised with the improved brightness and the colors. This TV is much better OLED for a room with lots of daylight. I did find the sound a little muffled (AI Sound doesn't seem to work well for my living room). Standard settings sounded best for my room, but you should consider a soundbar or AV receiver.

Hi. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your LG TV. Moving from a C9 to the G5 is a big jump, and it’s great to hear how much you’re enjoying the brighter picture and richer colors—especially in a room with a lot of natural light. Your note about the sound profile is really helpful too, and it’s insightful how you compared the different audio modes and suggested pairing it with a soundbar or receiver for the best experience. Brand new LG OLED G5 65” faulty
I’m bitterly disappointed about this purchase considering the high price tag. This TV packed up and stopped working 5 days after purchase. The TV refuses to switch on. The only piece working is the flashing LED light. Not what I expected for a TV that won PC mag’s Editors’ Choice winner for OLED TVs.

The best LG OLED TV to date!
I’m at a loss for words about the build quality. This TV absolutely blew away my older, still functional, S****** TV. I happily traded it in for a few hundred bucks. The included stand is also great, made of solid aluminium and matching the TV frame. Cable management is a godsend too – no more dangling cables for my cats to chew on. The remote is a game changer. I get that some people hate it, but personally, the pointer is such a great addition way to navigate the menu. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced OLED TV with a nice size and vibrant colours, without the annoying glare in your bright Aussie lounge room, look no further. You’ve found it.

Very large and bright screen
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace an 77inch LG B2 and it is a huge improvement! The screen is very bright, even in daylight, and the size makes it a lot more immersive experience. The blacks are very dark and the color looks really eye popping when compared to the older TV.

Super bright OLED - great for our new living room
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super bright compared to our LG C4 83" TV at our other house. Great addition to our new living room and the G5 is excellent on glare control compared to some of our other models that we have.

Nearly Perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG 83” G5 is a stunning TV and easily one of the best displays I’ve owned. The picture quality is phenomenal—deep blacks, excellent contrast, and a clean, vibrant image that looks fantastic no matter what I’m watching. Everything feels quick and responsive, and after a couple of weeks of daily use, the performance has been consistently excellent. From a pure viewing standpoint, this TV absolutely delivers. Where it falls short is in the gallery experience, which was a major reason I chose this model. During my research, I reviewed what appeared to be the gallery functionality for this TV, but after purchase I realized much of that content reflected the previous version of LG’s Gallery rather than the current Gallery Plus. The current implementation is more limited and seems to remove support for truly static images and other features that previously existed. I haven’t found a way to restore the older version, which was disappointing. Customization options could also be improved. More control over gallery behavior and system settings would better match the premium nature of the TV and elevate the overall experience. Overall, the LG 83” G5 offers incredible picture quality and strong performance, and I’m very happy with it as a TV. With improvements to the gallery software and deeper customization options, it could easily be a five-star product.

Hi, Adam. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your LG TV. It’s awesome to hear how much the 83" G5 has impressed you — deep blacks, vibrant color, and that smooth, responsive performance are exactly what this series is designed to deliver, and it’s great knowing it’s hitting the mark for you on the viewing side. Your insight on the Gallery experience is equally valuable. The way you described comparing the previous Gallery features to the current Gallery Plus really highlights how important customization and static‑image options are for a TV that doubles as décor. Feedback like yours helps shine a light on where the software experience can evolve to better match the premium hardware. Brilliant TV with Amazing Picture!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a beautiful LG G4 OLED, but the G5 is even better! Stunning contrast, color, and brightness, its picture is exquisite and striking. No other TV tech can compete with OLED for picture quality and deep immersion, and LG remains at the very peak of OLED quality and features. A couple stumbles in the G5's original firmware have all been seamlessly corrected, and the G5 provides a higher fidelity and better Dolby Vision viewing experience than any other brand or TV. Get an OLED, get the G5, and never look back.

Incredible TV, an upgrade to my older OLED
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased this as an upgrade to my 77" 2019 LG OLED C9 - and wow - this TV has shown how much OLEDs have improved over the past 6 years. Brightness - this in HDR is out of this world, the contrast between the black and the display is incredible. And having been using an LG OLED for a while, I'm used to the excellent contrast Movies - the Dolby Vision capabilities along with HDR have been excellent, re-watching some of the IMAX movies I've seen have been super enjoyable Sports - watching some Thursday night football from Amazon in 4k - chef's kiss - we could see every blade of grass on the field and the motion was super fluid, there is no comparison Gaming - having proper VRR and 120hz gaming is so nice, the PS5 shines on this gaming experience Overall this has been a wonderful upgrade into the current generation of OLEDs and I will continue to use LG OLEDs (I have 3 now!) as my primary TVs for movie, sports, and gaming

Your upgrade story is such a joy to read — going from the C9 to the latest OLED and feeling that leap in brightness, HDR, and overall performance is exactly the kind of experience we love hearing about. Just ok.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tv looks great, but based on the price I think the picture of the B5 or C5 is nearly as good. If you absolutely need the "top end" tv, then get the G5. Otherwise, save money and get the other models

Beautiful TV and colors but not perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV is beautiful. The col ors are vivid. Black is truly black, as its supposed to be in an OLED. Motion and brightness are good. The biggest negative to state about the TV is its representation of near-black. As mentioned, black shows up truly black. But frankly, almost black also shows up as black. What this means is that it is really challenging to see detail in dark scenes. This is especially noticeable in HDR and Dolby Vision. Perhaps there is user error, but I've configured according to guides and am in Filmmaker mode, in a dark room, with proper brightness. There is a setting to make the blacks less black which does bring detail, but also makes the blacks into gray. At that point though, you shouldn't get an OLED. Only other nit is the ads that are plastered all over the TV. Crazy that a TV this premium has so many advertisements. At least they can be turned off (as of now), but honestly, they shouldn't be on by default.
