A: Thanks for asking, Kevin. Corn meal mush is defined as a corn meal porridge and is an American version of polenta. It can also be eaten sliced and fried (see recipe below). Polenta is a cornmeal pudding eaten as a porridge that is a specialty of Northern Italy. INGREDIENTS: *1 cup Quaker Corn Meal *1 cup cold water *3 cups boiling water *1 teaspoon salt DIRECTIONS: 1. Mix corn meal with cold water. 2. Stir corn meal mixture into salted boiling water. Cook until thickened, stirring frequently. 3. Cover, continue cooking over low heat for 5 minutes; stir. 4. Serve hot with milk and sugar. Enjoy!

A: Thanks for asking, John. We're concerned for your health and understand that individuals sensitive to gluten cannot digest even trace amounts. The grains in these products are handled and transported in bulk by our suppliers. Although wheat, rye, and barley are not part of the ingredients in this product, this product may contain trace amounts - or come in contact with wheat, rye, and barley due to grains being grown, harvested or stored with other grains.

Q: Should corn meal be refrigerated?

A: Hi, Louise. Quaker Cornmeal should be stored in a cool, dry place, such as your pantry. We don't recommend storing it in the refrigerator. Freezing the cornmeal directly in the package is one way to extend the freshness. The meal will remain free-flowing and does not need to be defrosted. Do this by: * Wrapping the package in plastic wrap. * Wrap again in aluminum foil to prevent moisture from entering the product.

Corn Meal
I had some Quaker corn meal in my cupboard that had bioengineered products in it. I threw it away. I went to the grocery store and found Quaker corn meal without bioengineered products in it. Is there bioengineered products in it or is it deliberately left out from their ingredient list?

Corn Is Typically Genetically Modified
I am unsure why people are rating this product a 1-star due to Quaker labeling it as containing GMOs. I would like to think people know that 85% of the CORN grown in the United States is genetically modified, hence the warning, especially if they purportedly study nutrition. Quaker did exactly what they are supposed to do, warn customers, so we can decide whether or not we are going to consume their products or find another product that may not contain GMO corn.

It would be nice to know
what ingredient is a Bioengineered ingredient. Have spent 55 yrs avoiding fake stuff in foods and here I am again learning I need to start over again with products I previously used. I have asked this question numerous times of the company and have yet to learn.

Altered recipe
My mama made cornbread just about every Sunday night, and after she moved in with my family years later, I made it for her. She used the recipe on the container, with one notable exception. The quantities of corn meal and flour are switched. She said made as directed was more like a cake. I still make it like she did, and it’s delicious!

Tasty Cornmeal that my son loves
This is the best cornmeal on the market. I cook it for my very picky toddler boy and he loves it. Seriously delicious. I purchase and repurchase and stock up to make sure that I never run out of it. My entire family enjoys Quaker corn Meal.
I don't understand all the negative comments. I've been using Quaker for years and only have good results. When making the corn bread for different recipes I may not use the sugar. People have to improvise. Quaker is great.

I must say this has been my all time favorite for years until I recently noticed that it contains genetically Bioengineered ingredients ( GMO) who wants fake corn bread it me! I will be making family and friends aware this could be part of why their sick all these years. The food has changed to profit them more shame on you.

I purchased your yellow cornmeal to make cornbread. The recipe for cornbread on the box uses more flour than cornmeal. Also sugar. Then you dressing recipe uses cornbread. I assume the recip on the box....have you ever eaten cornbread dressing w sugar in it? Have you ever made cornbread where the main ingredient is Flour? Also you website rakes you in loops, not to info requested.

Corn meal different
How can I buy the medium ground corn meal you use to sell. I prefer that grind to the powder that is currently being sold . My grandmother would turn over in her grave if she saw this. And the taste is just not the same . Can you help me please?
