Not well written. Don't recommend.
I didn’t like the book. The school is gendered which confused my son everytime i said “he” he asked who? What he? The janitor is called “Janitor” instead of an actual name - people have names. My son was confused and asked for so many explanations, he learned nothing.

Nice twist on the first day of school
An upside down look at the first day of school - from the school’s perspective. My 3 1/2 year old loved it. School is just as unsure about the children as some of the children are about school. School exhibits a range of emotion from insecurity about the children coming to guilt over a false fire alarm to amusement over a joke to happiness at discovering a school’s real purpose. Happy ending with school anticipating the children returning.

Awful
Not sure why the school needs to be gendered. Also, a lot of the school’s thoughts are rather snarky. There isn’t really anything learned or gained from reading the book. Will be returning.
