Q: The instuctions say "one-time" single use gasket? Is that just for canned wet foods or does that also apply to dry goods like rice, beans and sugar? I want to use this to store surgar and salt?

A: The one time use is refering to if used for canning and wet foods. If using dry goods, you can use multiple times and not need to replace as often.

Extremely cheap glass
I cannot recommend these jars because for some reason they'd either change the way they're making them or they just using cheaper glass upon opening this package I went to pick up the jar and it cracked so if you're looking for a good job I would not buy this one because it looks like they have changed the materials in the way they make these jars nowadays they're just not worth the money come to find out these are made out of soda lime glass and not borosilicate glass, I contacted customer service and they said they were not able to provide me with the replacement so it looks like I'm Sol what a shame

I'm in love with these jars. I went to the local Target to check them out and I'm so incredibly glad I did. I have been putting my flour and sugars in plastic bags for years. I'm so glad I made the switch to these jars. They look great and fit so nicely in the pantry for organization. Best yet, they are airtight and made of glass. I kept reading so many negative comments about negative storage containers so I figured it's best to steer clear of plastic. Also, I try to look for Made in USA which this isn't, but I was okay with it being made in Italy because then at least it is quality made. For reference I ended up buying 6 of these jars and this size fits a 5lb bag of flour. I really hope Target keeps stocking these because I'll be back to buy more to organize my pantry.
