Too many flaps, good story
While this book does keep my 3 year olds attention, most of the flaps have nothing to do with potty training and I find he’s distracted by those rather than the topic. If it just eliminated the flaps that don’t have anything to do with going potty, I would give 5 stars.

Cute book, hard to open flaps
Cute story and my son likes it but some of the flaps are small and hard for his little fingers to open.

My Child Loves This Book
My child loves this book (& also the hidden flaps). The fact that my child is getting potty trained now, it makes the whole process easier since the book talks about what potty training is in a way your child can understand.

Cute.
Such a fun book to read while sitting on the potty. I don't know why this has bad reviews, its a great book. Shaming children on accidents is not right, they happen.

Not actually focused on potty training...
I understand the critique of others regarding the lack of content focused on actual potty training. However, I found the idea of accidents happening and even the idea of it can happen to anyone as a good point for the book to make. The book travels well and can survive a toddler chucking it across the room.

Average for more advanced potty trainees
Lengthy book, might be better for ages 3-5. Flaps are small but keep their attention. Book is good length but words on each page are lengthy. Majority of it is about the cousin but not much about actual potty training. Decent price. Quality is good. Overall, Didn’t keep my daughter attention but she liked the flaps after being shown where they were

Fine if You Use Pull-Ups and Want to Encourage Accidents
I was disappointed in the content of this book. It is a very wordy story, with distracting flaps to open, so it's hard for a potty-training age child to pay attention. It is less about the how-to's (although it does promote washing hands as part of the process, which I liked) but more about Elmo's younger cousin Albie who is learning to potty train and is visiting Elmo. Plus, the content seems to encourage accidents ("Uh-oh. I forgot to go potty." / "Oh, that's okay, Albie," Elmo says. "Sometimes accidents happen.") and promotes the use of pull-ups ("You're wearing pull-ups now...") which goes against our cotton training underwear, which is confusing to our little one, too. It's a large and sturdy book, but will be going back, as it isn't what we are looking for. :(

This book wasn’t for me. I returned it. There were too many flaps. I didn’t even let my son see it. I knew he would be too distracted with the flaps to actually read the book and learn about going potty. Plus the flaps are very flimsy. I don’t think they would have held up well. In my opinion, there are better books out there.

It's ok, I thought this was going to be more of a "how to" for kiddos going through potty training. It is actually just a story of Elmo and his cousin using the potty once throughout a story of their day. Some of the flaps having nothing to do with the story line and especially not the potty. I don't believe the title of the story really fits the book. If you are looking for an Elmo book, buy this book. If you are looking for a book to help with potty training, I would find something else.
