Could be better.
This 3.5 to lightning adapter is just an ok product from Monoprice. It sounds great when it works. I often need to plug/unplug it several times to get my phone to recognize it. It?s a minor problem, but it would be nice to have it work consistently. And yes, the lightning port on my phone is clean. Never have issues with my charging cables.

It?s a longer and more flexible cable than a standard dongle so it doesn?t do that annoying bend. Carrying one of these on me has saved a lot of situations.

Apparently not compatible with Samsung S21
Only gave audio in right channel when used with my Samsung Galaxy S21. Monoprice sent me a replacement, but it did the same, so seems to be incompatible with this phone. Samsung's equivalent costs a bit more but works flawlessly with this phone.

Nice quality, does the job
I like this Monoprice adapter more than the Apple one, even though it costs more. It's got metal connectors and a flexy, braided cable in between, so it appears to be much more durable than the all plastic Apple adapter. No problems with audio output and microphone input.

I love Monoprice! I have bought from them for years. I can't believe I'm unhappy with one of their products, but I bought two of these for my wife to listen to audiobooks through her iPhone. Both broke at the lightning end within a few weeks of occasional use.
