Escali Glass Arti Digital Kitchen Scale

Kept in great condition but it died completely after about 7 months. Also the tare button is on the scale itself so you have to press it extremely lightly so it doesn’t register the weight of your finger. Bad design, bad product, way overpriced. The solar charger thing didn’t seem to do anything either

I was interested in this scale because of the Escali brand, which I know a lot of coffee nerds heaps praise upon and I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed by the scale a little over a year later (1 year, 3 months to be exact). The scale has some great features, the tare, hold, large load capacity, and a variety of units. However, I have two big gripes. The first major one is the sensitivity of the buttons. Sometimes it feels sensitive that if I brush against it then that's enough to activate and sometimes I have to push a bit more or multiple times because it doesn't register my touch. The second one (which I just discovered) is the battery compartment. The original battery lasted over a year and I just had to change it and let me tell you that I'm disappointed in the design. The batteries are slightly covered by the scale itself, and the space is so tight so it's really tricky to get the battery out. I literally broke a nail and eventually found a flathead small enough to carefully apply leverage to remove the battery from the housing compartment without breaking anything. I wish that more thought had been put into the ease of removing the batteries, because not everyone will have small, delicate sized flathead.

The tare button didn’t work. You had push it 3-4 times to work. Other reviewers online mentioned the same problem. Returned.

A great choice if you’re looking for a food scale.

This kitchen scale is super simple and a great size for weighing an assortment of items in the kitchen. We appreciate the different measurement options as well as using the tare function when adding weight to items already on the scale. We use it most often for concise measuring with our pour over coffee, and it's perfect for this!

Easy to clean, easy to use. Bigger and nicer than my old cheap one from the online giant that shall remain nameless. I have a much easier time using my regular plates to weigh things with this scale than with my old one. I also could not properly clean my old one as any amount of liquid would get under the display window and take days to dry out. If you've never bought a food scale before, I would say spend the extra few bucks and get this one instead of the cheap $10 one you could buy elsewhere.

Small, light weight, easy to clean, accurate

This scale works great so far. I love the hold feature because the scale is smaller than some of my dishes, and the hold feature beeps when it's ready for me to remove the item and gives me plenty of time to remove the item, read the screen, and even change the unit when I realize I had it on the wrong setting. It doesn't shut off too fast. I use the tare feature all the time so I can keep adding new foods to my plate and getting the measurements for each one. I haven't had any problems getting it to zero out.

Simple design, very responsive, with a high maximum weight. Also, it's Alton Brown's recommended scale!

Great scale. I knew it was capable of these 3 important features: "tare" (zeroing out with weight already on it), "hold" (weighing something larger than the scale itself) and auto-shutoff (to save batteries). But it also has an outstanding feature that you don't often find (and that I found I needed very much): It not only has "grams" and "pounds and ounces" but it also has "full weight in ounces only". Here is why this is so important: we were selling tomatoes for $1.50 per pound and our other scales showed the weight as 3 pounds 7.6 ounces. Now try and figure out how much the customer owes. This scale showed 55.6 ounces. Easy, just take $1.50 and divide by 16 to get cost per ounce and then multiply by 55.6 ounces to get $5.21. I love it!

I love the scale, and it makes baking so much easier! However, in the just over three months that I’ve owned it, I have needed to replace the batteries four times. There have been multiple occasions where I’ve gone to cook something and haven’t been able to use the scale because the batteries are dead. I’m vigilant about turning it off after each use, so I think there must be some malfunction that is draining the batteries. Kicking myself for not returning it within the three month window.

As far as cooking goes, I’m confident enough to never measure anything. But baking is a different story. It’s been intimidating trying to bake anything even though I’ve really wanted to try. However, investing in this scale changed everything! Knowing exact measurements of things (especially flour!) has made my baking game stronger. I also love the size of the display — my kitchen has horrible lighting so that really helps. I like the fun colors, too. I got the pink one and I like that it’s bright but also easy to see any speckles or when it gets dirty.

This scale works great- it is self-explanatory to use and it cleans up easily! It is easy to store because it is so slim but it also looks nice sitting on the counter. It was worth the few extra dollars. I also purchased in the pink and it is slightly darker than some of the photos (less bubblegum colored, which i liked!).

This is an amazing scale and I saw it on the cooking network and Alton Browns Vlog.

Bought this for my girl’s mail order business. Being able to accurately weigh and print her own postage saves an enormous amount of time. This scale is small but mighty. Easy to store away. We got the white one and love it.
