Amazing
When I say I wasn't ready for this book, that is an understatement. I was completely unprepared for this story of two sisters and the love they share. This was more than just a romance, it was a life changer. Marin has always taken care of Sadie, ever since their mom died when Marin was 18. She has protected Sadie and stayed safe to protect herself and not followed her dreams. She has given up love, adventure and actually living for herself. Sadie is a free spirit and has followed in her mother's footsteps. She has become a photojournalist, traveling to remote and dangerous areas of the world. Sadie is home now, and talks Marin into a sister's trip to Saba. Marin has never been to the ocean; always staying where its comfortable and safe in her hometown in Tennessee. From the beginning of the trip, things go south for Marin; Sadie misses the plane, she is seated next to a handsome stranger she is embarassing herself in front of and a storm has them rerouting to the wrong airport. Good thing the stranger next to her was already going to Saba and can get her there, but did I mention it is by boat and she has never been on one of those either. I don't want to give too much away, as this book is told from Marin's POV with some of Sadie's sprinkled in. Sadie only wants the best for Marin and wants her to open up and begin to live again. The beginning of the book left me unsure what was happening. I was not sure about Lucas, the owner of the resort and the handsome stranger that took a liking to her so quickly. I thought it was an insta love situation and I am not really all about those, but as I kept reading, it all began to unfold. I am actually tearing up writing this review because the impact it had on me was that strong. There are triggers in this book, so don't think you are getting a cute rom com here. When you are in the mood for an emotional read, something that will tug on all of your heartstrings and make you thankful for the things you are given, then you will be ready for this book.
