PetSafe Happy Ride Metal Dog Barrier - Black: Adjustable Non-Skid Pet Containment Accessory, Metal Construction

I would not recommend this pet barrier. Too many moving parts and finicky to put into place. Easy to lose parts that are not available to purchase. My medium-sized dog (like the one in the product photo) was able to crawl through the bars. I ended up throwing it out, which is something I rarely do with larger purchases. I purchased a cheaper barrier with fewer parts and a mesh.

This is a great dog barrier but eventually the end caps fall off and then get lost and the barrier is no longer useable. Unfortunately, it appears that you can’t buy replacement caps, but rather have to buy a new barrier, which I won’t do.

Quality product at a fair price. Instructions were great. No missing pieces. Everything fit perfectly.

I initially received a defective unit, but these things happen. After a quick chat with their customer service they sent another one out right away. So great customer service. The replacement unit went together very easily. It was not an ideal fit in my car (Honda Fit, 2013), but it DOES fit. I will probably do a bit of modification to the uprights so the top 'feet' can sit at an angle along the car ceiling so I can use it with the back seats still in the upright position. My dog doesn't ACTIVELY try to get through the bars, so I cannot truly attest to their restraining power. But without this my dog WOULD be up in the drivers area, so it works for me. No excessive rattling even on bumpy roads... no more than another other add-on to a vehicle. I have noticed that after a few trips you will want to re-tighten the crossbar supports to keep everything in place. They don't come loose right away or anything, but they can loosen a bit over time. Overall it does what I need it to do... just don't think you are getting something custom made that will solve all your problems. Every car is different, so anything 'universal' must be taken with a grain of salt.

This fit neither of my cars and felt very cheap. One of the wingnuts in the box was inoperable. The instructions were confusing as well. I deemed tolerating my dogs while driving more suitable than dealing with this product. Very disappointing.

I am not sure if it is my SUV, but I could not get the upright supports to go flush with the headliner, which reduces stability. I have 2 bigger dogs and I am not sure it would hold them in.

But instructions were easy and it went together in about 10 mins. Now that it is assembled I love it! Basically I just put in the upright posts in the car and then the Tubes just snap into place. Takes up very little space in the garage and I can just grab and use it when I need it. Does the job at keeping my 4 out of the front seat when we are off to the groomers!

The only down side is, you need to keep your seats pretty straight in a crew cab truck or it takes to much room up in the back. If there was a way to attach it to the back of the seats, it would be better.

I decided to give the Tubular Barrier a try for his safety and my sanity. I was thrilled that it was easy to put together and that it fit my station wagon's rear section well, and it seems sturdy and reliable to keep my dog in place in the back of the car. I can drive in peace, and I love that my dog is in the back where he can't track mud and fur all over and risk getting hurt jumping back and fort in between seats.

Does a good job of containing pets, especially in the far rear area when the back seat is still folded up. It's very flexible and makes for a safer driving experience than letting the dogs constantly nose the driver or create distractions. Good value overall and good safety item for those traveling with dogs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an easy-to-install barrier that works pretty well. I would prefer smaller spaces between the bars and it make a slight metal banging noise as the car drives, but overall a nice safety pet product.

I have 4 dogs and two are pups, so containing them in the back cargo area was an important safety issue. This would fit easily in a bigger SUV. MY Outback is rounded, but my husband was able to fit it in with little problem

Our two dogs enjoy the car but could not understand why they could not sit on the drivers lap and help drive or at least use the drivers side window as their own. This product solved the proplem and yet allows a clear view of the road behind as well as checking on the welfare of our furkids.
