Catch, train, and battle with your Pokémon on a journey to try to become the Pokémon League Champion!

Welcome to the Sinnoh region! Rich in nature and with mighty Mount Coronet at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey to try to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. Along the way, you’ll run into the mysterious organization Team Galactic, and be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Palkia.

Explore the Grand Underground, connect with friends, and find rare Pokémon!

Use the Explorer Kit you’ll receive during your adventure to visit the Grand Underground! Here, dig up Pokémon Fossils and valuable treasure, including statues for your very own Secret Base. You can also visit places called Pokémon Hideaways, where you can find Pokémon that live in a variety of different environments—there are some Pokémon that can only be found in these Pokémon Hideaways. Embark on a Grand Underground adventure with other players through the local* or online communication** of your Nintendo Switch system!

Put on a performance with Pokémon in Super Contest Shows

Super Contest Shows are popular events in the Sinnoh region, each put on by four performers and their partner Pokémon, who work together to dance and show off their performance skills. You can prepare your Pokémon for your grand performance by giving them snacks, called Poffins, and teaching them impressive moves. Using Capsule Decoration, you can place Stickers to customize the effects that appear when your Pokémon comes out of its Poké BallTM for battles or Super Contest Shows. Choose a category like coolness, cuteness, or cleverness, and then tap along to the beat and put on a show!

Players can enjoy plenty of fun encounters and surprises that the Sinnoh region has to offer as they adventure together with the Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon Pearl Version game. The original story and the scale of the Sinnoh region’s towns and routes have been faithfully reproduced. These remakes have also been revitalized with some of the player-friendly features of modern Pokémon games and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.

Choose a Pokémon that you’ve befriended during your journey to walk along behind you in the games. In the relaxing Amity Square you can walk with up to 6 Pokémon! Depending on the Pokémon, you’ll see different gestures or ways of walking, and when you talk to your Pokémon, it will respond. You’ll also be able to add your own personal style! Choose a variety of in-game outfits and coordinate tops and bottoms. Some are based around Pokémon motifs and others change your hairstyle.

Unravel the plot of the mysterious Team Galactic as you work towards becoming the next Pokémon League Champion. Their leader is Cyrus, a charismatic figure who always speaks and acts with a calm, logical demeanor. He detests human minds and emotions, finding them defective. Find out what Team Galactic is up to and take down their leader.

Whether you played Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

A gift of the “Platinum Style” in-game outfit will also be given as a perk for early purchase of the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Pokémon Shining Pearl games. You can change your outfit at Metronome Style Shop in Veilstone City. By wearing the Platinum Style, you can continue through your adventure dressed like the protagonist of the Pokémon Platinum Version game!

Download the latest software update for a better gameplay experience! With this software update (v 1.1.0), players will be able to enjoy communication features in the Grand Underground, Super Contest Shows, and the Union Room, receive special items via Mystery Gift, and visit Ramanas Park after entering the Hall of Fame.
