A: Hi KellyJ! The 40 Qt. HingeLID Latch Box is made of Polypropylene plastic, and was designed for general household storage. Most household storage purposes do not require suggested weight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them or stack more than three high. This could cause distortion or eventual damage. When storing items away, use good judgment and be mindful of the weight in each tote and place the heaviest tote on the bottom.

Do not waste your money. The bottom corner cracked and broke within 5 days of buying it. I was storing two small throws/blankets in it so they do not get dusty when not in use.

I love this container, but measure your items carefully. Be aware the measurements given are the outer part of the lid, which extends a couple inches past the actual container. The inner container is only 15 inches in width, adding the lid makes it over 19 in. I had purchased this for a specific Christmas item that needed an 18 inch width. It’s a great container otherwise.

I’m using these to store my sons magnetic toys. They can get pretty heavy, and these containers hold well but definitely are for things lighter in weight. I love the beating able to see what’s inside and definitely helps with organizing

The inside dimensions at bottom are listed in the product details also on the product page, which are 20 7/8" x 15 3/8" x 7" .
