The seed starting trays have garnered mixed feedback from guests, with many appreciating their design and ease of use, particularly the silicone bottoms that facilitate seedling removal. However, a common concern is the absence of a humidity dome, which many believe is essential for successful germination. While some guests report good results, others express disappointment over durability issues and the lack of a cover, impacting their overall experience with the product.

I love this set up!
I have this set up in the 36 & 16 cell and I love them. The only thing missing is a dome and they would be perfect. Burpee, can you make domes for these?

Total waste of money!!
Some seeds sprouted but did not grow at all. Some did not germinate at all. Extremely disappointed!! Will not use next year!!!

36 pop-out & reusable seed starting tray
I bought THREE of these starting trays. I was really disappointed when I tried one of the 3 trays to start my seeds. After two weeks, I had fuzz all over my seedlings and none of the 36 cells lived till the third week. I will give it another try ... but I am very afraid that this new seed starting trays is "bad news"

Seed starting tray
Bought the flexible bottom ones. Should be a great idea. Dry rot after the first year and the company doesn’t care. I have bought a lot of stuff over the years. Now I walk right by anything that says burpee on it

Been fine so far I like the design of the tray itself but it needs a humidity dome… doesn’t come with one

Must have for....
starting your garden indoors. This is great for starting flowers and vegetable inside early that you plan to move outside. All of those are now planted outside and we have a variety of herbs growing now. The only down side is that the seed starting trays are not super deep, preventing the roots from growing comfortably.

Burpee, Can You Resize the 36 Cell to A Half Size of 18?
I love all the Burpee seed trays with the silicon bottoms. I have the 36 cell tray, but at times for me, I would like one in a half size of 18 cells. I feel that would help with us who have smaller gardens with keeping seedlings better sorted and organized, not soo many different seeds in one tray.

Great design, but fall apart very quickly.
I love these seedling trays, the design for getting out starts without disrupting the roots is unmatched. I have 10 of these trays even though they're so expensive. I wouldnt mind if they lasted a while, but on their 2nd year all of the silicone bottoms have degraded and cracked making the trays useless. These aren't marketed as a one and done product but unfortunately they are. For the price I expected multiple seasons of use.

Needs Humidity Dome!
For the most part I am very happy with these - I bought several in different sizes last spring in the hopes that they would last longer than the cheap black cell trays. But one tray already cracked in its first season. I do like the easy pop-out feature - less damage to the roots. Main concern is that without a humidity cover I have to jerry-rig plastic covers to keep the soil from drying out too fast. Without that and if they don't hold up I'm not sure its worth the cost. Great idea but it needs a bit of an upgrade.

Great idea. Limited lifespan.
Very impressed with the first two plantings. Being able to pop out the seedlings was so helpful. After the third planting, the silicone was falling apart as you can see. This did not go in the dishwasher. The product description led me to believe that this would be longer lasting.

Only lasts for one season
I bought 2 of these trays last year (one 36-cell and one 16-cell). They worked well but when I pulled them out to start seeds today, the plastic sides crumbled and fell apart in my hands. I’m really disappointed to not get multiple years of use out of them.

I should have read the reviews....
Looks like I am not the only one with this concern. I should have read the reviews. I just started my seedlings, and to my disappointment, realized these kits did NOT come with a dome. Any expert in seed starting should NOT make seed making trays without a dome. Could you PLEASE send a dome to keep the seedlings warm? This could be as simple as sending 2 bases (one to hold the water, one to cover the seeds)... this is what I am currently doing and works well, but now I can"t use my second starter tray. If there was a dome with the kit, I would be rating this 5 star.

Almost Perfect...BUUUTTT
First off, I LOVE these little seed starting trays! I've had mine for about 3 years now and they're great! My only complaint is that there is no dome/lid! I've never seen a seed starting kit without a dome to keep in humidity, otherwise the soil just dries out before the seeds have a chance to sprout. Currently using plastic wrap over the tops of mine, but I hate not having a reusable option like a dome.

Barely reusable
The plastic disintegrates/ dry rots. I'm starting year two using them and it's already falling apart. Now I just am going to buy the plantable compostable kind and skip this all together. It is such a waste, especially considering you're trying to be less wasteful.

So hopeful
I was so hopeful these would be a multi year plant starting solution because they were pricy, and while the silicon bottoms held up, the upper plastic cracked and broke in the start of the second year despite careful handing and storage. Due to sharp edges I recycled them.

The plastic falls apart
I purchased multiple of these in hopes of having a reusable option for years to come. Instead the plastic dry rots and disintegrates. Not worth the investment.

Very easy to use. Superior to other starting trays.
Removing seedlings for planting is often a problem. Roots are often damaged, and fragile seedlings don't make it. But the construction of these trays makes complete, safe removal of the entire contents of the cell a sure thing!

unfortunately I destroyed the packaging before I realized that this seed starting kit does not include a humidity dome - would not have purchased had I known
