Kwikset Tustin Keyed Entry Lever featuring SmartKey Security™ in Satin Nickel

As 80+ year old seniors our ability to turn knobs was becoming more difficult so we purchased 2 lever passage and dead bolt locks for the door and security door we use the most often. These proved so great we purchased 4 more of them for the other 2 doors and security doors. They are very secure locks, and were easy to replace our 20 year old Kwikset locks.

I like Kwikset lever style door knobs, I have them on my front door and laundry room door entrance to the garage. This lever style is the way to go when your hands are full, like carrying groceries into the house. The smartkey feature is pure genius and Kwikset provides a warranty that is hard to beat. Great looking products in a variety of finishes.

Installation went easy and the handle looks very professional.

We built and moved into our home in June 2011. The 2nd most opened door would only open if you pressed up on the lever by October/November, 2018. Kwikset said the problem was the latch and sent me a new one. I installed and the door opens up or down like new! The most opened door to our home, to our garage, wore out similarly about a year ago and we replaced it and it has worked without problems.

I brought 6 sets Deadbolts/Lever knobs (smartkey) over 10 years ago. they preform great. Warranty coverage on 3 of the most used entry doors has been great also- tumblers replaced when they act up.

I like the smart key feature. It makes it very easy to key all of the house similarly. I have had three keyed Tustin entry levers break by freezing either the opening mechanism or not being able to lock. This is a design flaw somewhere in the actuating mechanism or the striker bolt.

Our house construction was completed in early 2011. We have 18 Tustin Venetian Bronze products through out the house. Seven years later we are still very pleased with them and their performance. Only one handle has needed any attention and it is the door that gets a ton of traffic. We called about a fix for the handle assembly and was very happy with the quick service received. I have also helped install these or similar Kwikset door handles for friends and relatives. Highly recommended! We also found the lever handles to be much more convenient for many reasons....small grandchildren, levers more handy while carrying whatever, I am getting older also

Key would not work any longer. You had sent me a new tumbler and keys, but installing a tumbler is very difficult, so I eventually gave up and just removed the shaft which made the handle a non locking one. You should have sent me a new complete keyed entry lever.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our house came with antique brass handles years ago, and even though they have now come back we were sick of them. We replaced all of the handles, entry, and interior with the Tustin Lever handles and we love them. They are easier with the lever, the smart key feature made it so we could still use our original keys, and the polished brass brightened things up!

Just moved in to brand new house (custom built) and have only lived here for four months. Have had to replace 2 door handles already. The lever stays in the jam and have been locked out of my house. Not only that, but have had to pay to get my doors re-keyed. The MAIN problem is the lever turns but fails to retract from the jam, so basically your locked out. Not impressed with the quality. hide-a-key or you will not be able to get in, have had to go through other door!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought several of these for the interior doors of my home where I wanted a little more security such as my office and the guest bedroom. Although they are advertised as being intended for outside doors, they work very well inside as well. I was able to swap my old hardware very easily so it took about 15 minutes per door including the re-keying. None of the descriptions mentioned keys but there are two keys included with each Kwickset. Also, I could not figure out what the difference was between the Polished Brass and the Lifetime Polished brass. From my past experience I know that they will do an exchange when the finish fails so I went with the Polished Brass. I love these locks and highly recommend them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially bought deadlock+keyed entry combo pack in the venetian bronze because it matched the security door perfectly and with the smarkey feature, we were able to still just use one key to unlock all of our doors. unfortunately, after daily use for 3 years, the keyed entry lock no longer works (meaning it will no longer lock). since I cannot find the receipt and never initially registered it, home depot was awesome enough to exchange for me as they still carried the combo set as we were leary in returning to kwikset for repair as we previously returned a lock a year ago and never received it back.

I bought 5 of these and already had to replace 4 of them.
