Great camera buit a bit complicated menu for an amateur like myself.
I purchased this camera and same lens kit here a few years ago for a lot less than currently listed. The prices here change frequently. The camera takes great pics but the menu is a bit complicated for an amateur like myself. Some of the buttons are close to the grip and can easily be pressed by mistake. The camera comes with 1 battery and charger. You need 2 batteries but beware most aftermarket batteries will not work with the Canon charger or the camera, only genuine Canon batteries, and they are expensive. For those that have this camera there is a new firmware out V1.5, 3/16/26. https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-r50

Mediocre
Mediocre camera. It's sluggish, not very responsive. Lack of command dials killed it for me. Canon refurbished sales system is good. Camera and accessories were in perfect condition.

Good camera to dip your toe in the mirrorless world
Buying a refurbished R50 seemed like the best value to stick my toe into the world of mirrorless cameras. Lower priced than a new one, but still backed with a Canon warranty. Although I didn't really want the standard kit lens, it was cheaper to buy it that way than buy the body only. The R50 is a lot smaller than it appears in online photos. I was expecting a full size DSLR camera, and it's smaller than a Rebel. Good if you like to travel light and have small hands. With the Canon adapter, it works great with my old lenses, which makes the transition to mirrorless less painful. The R50 has allowed me to play with mirrorless in a cost effective way. Opinions seem in favor of mirrorless, but personally, I'll stick with conventional DSLR for as long as I can. I just don't care for electronic viewfinders.

Not a sports photo camera- pretty good camera otherwise!
Beginner here. I really do like this camera. It’s not a $3000 camera by any means. It takes great still shots but it is really hard to get a crisp in motion picture when snapping sport photos. You most definitely need a longer range lens, the one it comes with won’t get you all the shots that you will want. I’ve recently noticed a delay or even non response when trying to snap photos at 2 different events but can’t figure out if it’s because of the mode that I have it in or if it’s a malfunction. Autofocus can be a bit touchy and somewhat annoying at times because it won’t just stay focused it’s constantly going blurry to regain its focus on whatever is in your autofocus box at that moment. All in all a great camera for everyday use and even some family photographs but I would not recommend for anyone wanting to use for sports.

This review isn’t about the camera. It’s about FedEx, the shipping company that Target insists on using. This is my third shipped item in a row that hasn’t arrived when expected. The first two packages never arrived at all. Do better Target.

Refurbished is good as new
Looks and performs perfectly. I am glad, as I am new to photography, that I was able to save a bit with a refurbished camera.

I really love this camera. It’s easy to use. I did a lot of research before purchasing one and this one checked all the boxes for me. There is an app so you can easily transfer photos to your phone. Great auto focus. I ended up purchasing another lens for further shooting but the one it comes with is great for closer up shots. I’ll attach photos I’ve taken with the camera and edited on photoshop.

Film to r50
Last camera I used was film. The r50 was complicated but canon manuals helped a lot. I’m shooting regularly

A Good Travel Camera
It has a pop-up flash, fully articulating back and is small size. It is a good camera for casual shooting and a travel companion. Canon's does not offer any prime RFS lenses. The zooms are limited also. I like 1.4 to 1.8 lens for interior shooting and a macro for flowers/stamps/coins.

Very nice for the price
I've got an M6 which I love and use for hiking -- it clips on my backpack and is both small and light. Of course the "M" series is discontinued -- my daughter wanted something similar. We're both Canon shooters with plenty of other cameras for the last 20 years. This was what I got her to fill the bill; its very close in size with the kit lens to the M6, and she loves it for this purpose. Of course its not waterproof so you have to take some care with it, but for this application small and light without compromising much else is the key, and that it has the same quality of sensor is the biggie. Now if there were just more of them at the price I paid for this one (I'd upgrade my M6 to one of these too.... :-))

Great little camera
I got this camera as a backup to my Canon R6ii. Something I could take on vacation or do street photography that was much smaller and portable and something I wouldn't have to worry about so much if something happened to it. So far I am very happy with it's capabilities and the pictures it takes.

Great camera and lens kit
I upgraded from a DSLR (Canon 90D) and prefer the mirrorless Canon R50. It's more sensitive, MUCH lighter, "smarter" (can do more automatically), fits in my pocket with this lens retracted, and is just a nice companion. With the 90D, it's so heavy that I'd have to consciously think "Do I really want to lug a camera around today?" But the R50 just comes with me no matter what.

Canon Mirrorless Camera
I absolutely love this camera and I recommend it to anyone who is new to cameras and looking for something easy to work with, but also has amazing quality. I use my camera strictly for posing pictures at the gym and filming and I have zero complaints. I have also been told by many peers that my picture quality is amazing on my posts and there is a clear difference from my phone quality !!!
