Fantastic Engineering & High Play Value!
The VTOL Mechanism: The way the engines rotate for vertical takeoff is smooth and satisfying. It’s a great demonstration of gear engineering. Functional Cargo Claw: The retractable claw works perfectly for picking up the included mini-rover, which adds a lot of 'mission' playability. Aesthetic: The orange and white color scheme looks sharp and futuristic on a shelf. Gifting: It’s an amazing gift because it offers a lengthy, engaging build that isn't overly repetitive. What to keep in mind: Complexity: Some of the internal gear alignments require a bit of patience, so it’s definitely best for the 10+ age range or intermediate builders. Overall, it's a sturdy, well-designed ship that feels worth the price."

Great set to buy and a wonderful play experience
Glad to have gotten this set before it was retired. Great swooshability and many easy-to-use play features for younger kids. Absolutely worth it for the price if you can still get your hands on one. One thing for me is I struggled to follow the instructions at times, as it takes a good eye to see the pieces being connected. Because of this, early on I made a mistake and did not realize it until later, which forced me to restart the entire build. It took 11 hours to finish, but that was because of an error on my part, so the average building time would probably be between 5-8 hours if you concentrate. Overall, an amazing build to have and I'm still so glad to have bought it and built it.

Super Cool Lego Set
When I discovered this wet I was looking for cool lego spaceships as spaceships are my main passion with legos. I was looking for something to make stories with and play with. I love star wars but I wanted a change. This set blew me away the moment I laid eyes on it. After building I realized its not only a great player but its insanely detailed. This set is also very sturdy at no moment did I have a problem with it breaking. The instructions are slightly challenging but apart from that this set is a must have for spaceship fans!!!

Great experience
As a (hot, pretty and adorable) chemist I enjoyed building this set. I was able to finish it in a day. The only issues is that for some parts it was hard to join them together and you would need to apply a lot of pressure. Very movable parts, displays nicely.

Great slow and steady build
A really great build to work on at a slow and steady pace, it took about 6 hours for my kid to complete. There were a couple of instructions that weren’t quite clear, but the builder app with the 3D instructions helped quite a bit.

So playable!
As an adult this is hands down the most playable set I’ve seen in a while. I love that it has a handle and three movable functions within reach of the handle. And it looks awesome! The only downside is the stickers, there are so many and I’ve never been a fan of stickers on legos. But overall I love having and playing with this set. I’d love to see more flyers like this that are clearly meant to be held and flown, especially in the space theme.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was the most excited to receive this product, it’s very beautiful. But it does take a lot of work to build it. You have to have a lot of patience and determination to achieve it. I do not recommend that they leave it within the reach of small children under 4 years old. It contains only small parts. The price is worth it, it’s very high. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion.

We’ve built many of Lego’s recent Space vehicles (42158, 42180, 42182) and 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship is my favorite. Fun build, great play features that work flawlessly and a very reasonable price. Nice work Lego!

I think this is great gift for a 10 year old or a grown up who loves space. The quality is off course fantastic as all Lego toys are. As a Lego loving family we were thrilled to build the heavy cargo space ship.
