Q: Is this safe for babies / toddlers to use (since they swallow their toothpaste / are too young to spit out)? The xylitol is similar to other baby toothpastes, but not sure about the other ingredients

    I never write reviews, but I haven’t felt so strongly about a new formula change until now. I would give this zero stars if I could, but was extremely disappointed with the new formula as it is watery and has stevia in it which also leaves a horrible after taste. My mouth and teeth did not feel clean after using this either. I truly hope that they switch back to the original formula since many long time customers are also having the same issue.

    They changed the ingredients!!

    I’ve been using Tom’s for years, so it came as an unwelcome surprise that they changed it. This new formula doesn’t taste as good as the previous version. Not sure why they changed it, but I’ll be looking into other brands moving forward.

    SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE NEW RECIPE

    Adding to the many comments about the new flavor in hopes that Tom's will get wind of all the complaints and change it back to the old kind! My kids and I were used to the previous recipe and loved it. Seriously, it was the best tasting toothpaste and actually made your mouth feel naturally clean. Now it just tastes like sweet overload. I don't want to taste sugar when I brush my teeth. I want to brush knowing that my mouth is getting clean. That's how it felt when I used the old toothpaste - baking soda clean, foams beautifully, and perfectly refreshing mint. This new stuff doesn't leave your tongue feeling fresh and hardly foams either. It tastes like you're taking a bite out of overly sweetened spearmint candy. Really hope Tom's changes it back. *lightbulb* Maybe I'll have my kids write to them as a homeschool assignment!

    Tastes and works just fine to me. I especially like it that I don’t get an allergic reaction from it like I do with all other large brands of toothpaste. What I don’t like are the way smaller tubes for the same price.

    New taste sucks!

    New taste sucks! This tooth paste used to taste so good and make your teeth so white. The new formula tastes horrible. I don't know why they did this. Definitely finding a new toothpaste!

    Beware long term effects of flouride free

    I’ve been using Tom’s for years. I love the brand, their mission, and their clean ingredients. What I don’t love is the consequences of using a fluoride free toothpaste for so long… I brush, floss, and use (Tom’s fluoride free) mouthwash. I’ve never had a cavity in my life, and now I have what the dentist is calling “dark staining” in the crevices of my molars and it’s because I use a fluoride free toothpaste. I’m 25 and have good hygiene but I now have a sealant on one of my molars and am going to need another one if I can’t reverse the effects of being fluoride free for so long. I will try Tom’s fluoride option, but buyer please do your own research before buying fluoride free.

    the best

    This toothpaste is. my favorite ive been using it for over 3 years now. For the longest time I used to buy them 1 by 1, but after I found the 3 pack deal I've been buying it by 3 every since. I moved places after that but there was a target close by and ive been getting it from here. Highly recommend!
