Glad I Switch from the Series 7 to the Series 9
This is review is based upon my first month of use with the new Series 9 and switching from the Series 7 shaver. I am very happy with the quality of the shave. I get a smoother shave as well as quicker when compared to the Series 7 shaver. The shaver head is of good quality and a bit easer to clean with a brush. I have not use the charging case, but will have a trip in February to try it out. One improvement I recommend is that the power button be made more difficult to push in or moved. I have on occasion turned off by simply moving my hand as I shave. I look forward to seeing how long the shaver head will last with a consistent quality shave.

Good but not great
I have used braun shavers for a while now. Starting out with the series 3. I purchased the 5, 7 and now the 9. I honestly always felt like I got an upgrade with a better shave until I got the series 9. It gives an ok shave but not as close as my series 7 shaver. This may be the one upgrade that did not perform as well as the previous. I reached out to braun and did all of the troubleshooting guides they gave me and it still did not give the shave that was expected. I was expecting a lot more with the given price. Good shave but not as close as the series 7

Several steps backwards, will stick with my 790cc
Was given as a present to replace my old 790cc-4. I returned it, it feels lightweight and cheap, the head is far too big, it doesn't fit under my nose. I wish I could purchase a new 790cc, it is compact and slim and is well made. The Series 9 is a step back and is unusable, unless you are Bluto with a huge stubbly face. The design of the cleaner is poor, on my old one I would plug in and leave it alone, when I need to replace the cartridge I just tap button on the side and insert from the front. With the new one I have to pull it out and insert from the back, again a step backwards in usability. I will keep my 790cc as long as possible, unless I can find a new one somewhere.

Good service, great razor!
I upgraded to Series 9 after using a Braun razor for years. This one worked well until a few weeks ago when the cleaner stopped working. I notified Braun and they emailed me asking for information. Once supplied they sent me a mailing label and instructions about what I should return. It took about 10 days and my razor was returned with a new washer and all cleaned up like new. I have never received such good service from any company.

Buyer beware, the head on them broke on the corner and in a hurry grabbed it not seeing it and sliced my face up with just one pass requiring stitches so by a different brand or use a regular razor but stay away from Braun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mediocrity, alas, dressed in chrome
One would like, in the spirit of gentlemanly indulgence, to declare the Braun Series 9 Pro an exemplar of German engineering, humming with Teutonic efficiency. Alas, two years’ experience leaves me compelled to something less than encomium. The shave itself—surely the raison d’être of such a contraption—is, at best, mediocre: adequate for the hurried commuter, perhaps, but never quite approximating the clean, bracing exactitude of a manual razor. Worse still, the once-vaunted cleaning station, that cathedral of convenience, has declined into a wayward fountain. Cleaning fluid now squirts with abandon, as though mocking the very notion of order. I did what any conscientious consumer would do—cleared the drainage holes, inspected the innards, scoured the detritus. Yet the problem persists. And let us be candid: if one must perform ablutions upon a device meant to perform ablutions, then what exactly has one purchased? It is not my first disappointment with Braun. My previous Series 7 endured a mere three years before expiring, which should have served as augury enough. The Series 9, regrettably, has fared no better in cultivating long-term confidence. Thus: two stars. One for past promise, and another for the residual dignity of its chrome façade. But the rest must be left on the cutting-room floor.

Quality Issue
I have owned the razor or 2.5 years. It is great for shaving, holds a charge well, but has a similar quality issue to prior generations. The start/stop button has now broken, just much faster than my prior trimmer that was 10+ years old. This is with taking good care of the unit, only traveling with it in its case, etc. I’m hoping Braun works to improve this design on future generations, as it seems worse than ever. I have not contacted Braun on this since it is technically now out of warranty by a half year, but is obviously a manufacturing issue for an incredibly nice razor otherwise.

Very Disappointed!
I have used Braun razors exclusively for over twenty years. This current Series 9 Pro is a couple of years old. Recently the power button broke and is not replaceable easily and economically. This is a very expensive razor for such poor quality. I am hesitant to replace it with another Braun!

Crap build quality
I bought this razor off the back of having a previous Braun razor that was bulletproof. The thing had lasted for years. I felt comfortable with the hefty price tag for this product because of the quality of the previous razor. I have babied this device. It lives in either the power case or on the cleaning/charging dock. Please see the attached images. It has never been dropped, is not scratched, and, as I said, has been babied. The build quality of this Series 9 Pro has not lived up to the level set by the less expensive model I had previously. I have had to send the device in twice when the power button fell off. It just fell off.... FOR A THIRD TIME. This is beyond frustrating. I have spoken with friends who have other devices from other manufacturers that cost a fraction of the price, and they have not had issues like this. Some of them are quite a bit older as well.

I purchased this and it’s been hard to enjoy. Because after 5-8 minutes it stops working and I have to wait 5 minutes for it to start working again this happens with the battery fully charged. And when it starts working it only works for a couple of minutes before stopping. Every morning I go through this process and this makes the machine the most expensive minute shaver. Regardless of how well it can cut the performance sucks. This is my 4th Braun shaver in 30 years.

Worst shave ever
I upgraded via the years from Series 3 via Series 5 and then Series 7 to lately to the Series 9. My Series 7 provided a very good shave but got a bit old. I bought the Series 9 because of Braun's advertisement for it and hoped for a beautiful shaving experience. To the contrary, it is the worst shaver I ever had. I lost my confidence in Braun's products.

Disappointed
Purchased this razor in January of 2024. It broke in less than 1 year of use. I have been using Braun for many years. I am not hard on razors and take meticulous care or my razors. My last Braun lasted me several years. I decided to upgrade since I like the Braun brand. This razor was expensive but I thought it would be worth the extra money since I had good experiences with Braun razors. It was not worth it. While shaving, it became unbearably loud. I popped the head off and a piece went flying across the bathroom. I found a tiny metal pin. After inspection, a small plastic piece that held the pin had broken off. It was a piece from the razor so replacing the head will not solve the problem. JUNK! I will never buy another Braun. So, I am looking for a new razor and it will not be a Braun. Do not buy this razor. It is not worth the expensive price.

Do not buy the S9 Pro
The shaver is OK, not great, but do not buy this top of line. The shaving heads (suggested replacement every couple years) cost more than a mid-priced shaver. After 2 years my battery has died, which requires a trip to a professional. Something half the price would do just as well.

Disappointed
I got this for Christmas last year. I have had a Braun shaver for years and it worked well. This shaver does not shave close under the chin without persistent and long effort. I wish I didn't throw my old one away. I also don't like to have to pay the high prices for the cleaning cartridges, the stuff evaporates.
