Ortho® Home Defense® Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter2 kills common household bugs such as ants, bees, beetles, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, flies, millipedes, mosquitoes, moths, spiders, stink bugs, ticks, termites, periodical cicadas, and more (as listed). This insect killer creates a bug barrier of up to 12 months protection (against ants, roaches and spiders indoors on non-porous surfaces) to provide long-lasting results. In addition, the Invisi-Shield Technology formula gives off no fumes, dries clear, and dries fast. Use Ortho® Home Defense® Insect Killer for Indoor & Perimeter2 anytime as a preventative treatment or after you see evidence of insect activity for long lasting-control. Shake the Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer For Indoor & Perimeter2 container well before using. On indoor surfaces, set the nozzle to the indoor setting. Hold the sprayer 12 inches from the surface to be treated. Apply a 4 inch wide band along the interior of your home in areas where insects are a recurring problem. Spray the area until very slightly wet, but do not soak the area. On outdoor surfaces, set the spray nozzle to the outdoor setting, holding the sprayer 12 inches from the surface to be sprayed. Apply a 12 inch wide band along the exterior of the home. Again, spray until slightly wet without soaking.

People and pets such as cats and dogs may safely reenter the treated area once the area has thoroughly dried. Once dry, it's very difficult to dislodge the residue, so exposure, if any, would be minimal. If unsure how long it takes for the product to dry, wait at 24 hours before allowing pets to re-enter the treated area.

We suggest doing a small test area before applying to ensure it will not fade/stain the carpet. The vehicle should not be running during application-all doors should remain open. Allow the product to dry completely before closing doors, re-entering, or restarting the vehicle. We do not suggest using on vehicle seats, dashboard, exterior surfaces, engine, or electrical areas. For Safety: DO NOT apply where skin will come in direct or repeated contact with the product applied.

I was having a problem with ants in my house. I used this to spray along the borders of my doors on the inside. So far, it has worked pretty well, haven’t had any ant issues in the places that they were before. However, there were still a couple of ants so I had to spray more spots.

I don't yet know how effective it is but the battery operated wand leaves a lot to be desired. It just doesn't spray well regardless of the wand settings. It sprays and then quits like it is clogged. And, yes, it's a full jug that was well shaken.

We’ve been using Ortho Home Defense for years and have always trusted it to keep bugs out of our home. The formula still works really well, but the sprayers they’ve been using lately are terrible. Over our last four purchases, we’ve tried both the hand pump trigger and the comfort wand. Neither one works properly. The hand sprayer barely puts out any product, no matter how hard you squeeze. It just ends up being a frustrating arm workout while bugs keep biting. The comfort wand looks like it should be easier, but it’s just as bad. It makes noise, but barely sprays anything, and takes forever to cover even a small area. Thankfully, we still had an older wand from a few years ago, and when we connected it to the new bottle, everything worked fine. That’s how we know the issue isn’t the product itself, it’s the new dispenser design. Unless they fix the sprayers, we won’t be buying this again. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for something that doesn’t actually work the way it should.

I've used your products for years, but recently they will start failing to spray. DO NOT give me your canned response of troubleshooting the sprayer. None of those are the problem, but I can tell you what IS the problem. It's the cap! It cracks, breaking the seal and preventing the pump from being able to suck the product up. The white portion of the cap that turns and that you plug the wand tube into. That white part is what cracks. It's done it on all 3 of these. You need to strengthen that section of the cap by either thickening it, adding some strategic ribs, or changing your plastic type. Alternatively, you may be able to get away with adjusting the mating of the wand tube end and the white section of the cap to reduce the overall stress on that cap section. Have you solved for this yet, and do you offer replacement caps to keep me from having to waste these 3 containers of product?

I was beginning to think this product doesnt work, i was wrong. A 4 by 4 pressure treated post was removed when remodeling my fencing. This post had a large active area of carpenter ants. Must have been thousands, huge eaten away section of the post, ants all over. I had a half used jug of home defense sitting in my garage for a year or two. Here was my chance to see it it works. I sprayed the 4 by 4 in the afternoon. Looked at it the next morning. There wasn’t a live ant in site. Piles of dead ants all over. Yes this product works and works well no matter how long you have the jug sitting around

I've been using Home Defense Insect killer religiously since 2018. In our area of the country, we deal with spiders, ear wigs, ants, weevils, and more. I apply outside to the perimeter of my house, and around windows. Inside, I apply along baseboards through the entire house, at exterior door thresholds, and in window tracks. This product has kept my house completely spider and insect free. I use the concentrate, mix as instructed and apply every spring. I swear by this stuff!

The spray itself seems to work. The sprayer mechanism is terrible. I have bought five jugs and the sprayer will not dispense. The wand works but never pumps and spray out of the jug. I have used your product for years and didn’t have this problem. Very frustrating. I just happen to have an old manual spray mechanism off of another product that I have to use. If you are going to sell it make sure it works.

Issues with nozzle. Not the contents which work great until nozzle stops spraying . Last several gallon containers I’ve purchased the nozzle will not work past 2-3 sprays. So currently I have a full gal container that has an inoperative nozzle.

I bought this product at the beginning of the season. I have done at least 8 exterior, full perimeter, applications and 2 interior, full perimeter applications over the last 3 months. I still find ants crawling up the sides of the house at the foundation. We've had 3 significant incursions into the house. We keep the kitchen counters clean. We don't eat except for in the kitchen yet we still find ants periodically. I've also done probably 15-20 spot applications when ever I see ants outside the house.

I think something must have changed in their formula, as I used to use this ALL THE TIME and recommended to many people. Unfortunately, in the last couple of years it just plain doesn't work anymore. So I will no longer be recommending nor using this product. Sad too, cause I really believed in this product!

This stuff seems to work well and I will continue to buy it. However, the wand does not work. I have purchased four or five of these over the years and after a short time, the wand would not work. It would be better to have a hand sprayer.

The wand doesn’t work. I’ve tried everything! A new wand and the old one form the previous bottle. Nothing happens. What a waste of money! And the complaints online for this product are in the thousands. Never buying it again. You stole my money once but you won’t do it again!

To do this you can lift the container higher than the wand. Press the trigger for 30 seconds. After a few seconds the wand should begin to spray. Once 30 seconds have passed you can lower the container and continue spraying the product. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee.
