A: Yes. It will need protection from any children(any age), pets, rain/sprinklers and wind. I have used it near ant hills but once the wind flips it or a shower comes, it is useless.
I know what you're thinking: Did it work? Yes for the hill. I have no idea if it got the nest. After I lost a few(due to wind, rain and, once, a mower, I gave up trying.
They seem to be effective inside as I put one under the microwave about twice a year and it clears the problem.

Q: Ants on kitchen counter top near sink, What's best place to put the ant baits?
Should we also get the type to put outside under the kitchen window?
submitted by sickofants - 2 years ago
A: We would recommend placing the stations where you see ant activity.
submitted byWoodstream Team - 2 years ago

Q: Are these the ones with the ramp that the ants can walk up (where you cut a slit in the bottom), or are they the ones with the snap off tab? The ones with the snap off tab are not as effective as the ants cannot get in as easily.
submitted by Kris - 2 years ago
A: Our bait stations with the ramp are no longer manufactured. The newer design is with the twist off tab. The liquid formula has not changed.

Q: Can I tape this flat to a wall or does it need to be on a horizontal surface?
submitted by Susan - 2 years ago
A: These baits are not recommended to be taped to a wall. They should be placed on a flat, horizontal surface.

Q: When do you replace the trap? I’ve been checking on one trap in particular for about 5 hours, and it’s like they’re having a field day. When will this be over? lol
submitted by Jordansmommy18 - 3 years ago
A: We recommend replacing the bait station when it is empty, if ant activity is still present. Typically a colony is eliminated within two weeks.

Q: How long does this take to work? How long until I don't see any more ants?

Q: How long can these Terro Liquid Ant Baits be stored(ambient temps) and still remain effective?
submitted by fhj52 - 3 years ago
A: As long as the bait remains a liquid, they are still effective. Typically it takes 2-3 years for the liquid to harden if the bait station is not opened.
submitted byWoodstream Team - 3 years ago

Q: Can something like a paper towel be placed under the ant trap so that all can be discarded instead of a lot of dead ants on the floor or will the paper towel hinder the ants going to the trap?
submitted by kali - 3 years ago
A: Putting a paper towel underneath the trap will not cause any issues at all. An excellent idea for easy cleanup!

Product did not open easily as advertised. Exploded open and ruined half of the traps. Painful on my fingers trying to open packaging. Frustrating and poor performance. Disappointing consumer experience- I don’t recommend. Use scissors. I like that the traps are clear and you can see ants going inside. My kids are fascinated. Effectiveness on removing ant problem - TBD.

I've had these ant traps in my house for over 2 weeks and have not caught a single ant. In fact, the ants just all hang out around it (as pictured). Complete waste of money.

I had a bunch of ants in my room over the summer. I poured some of these at the window where they were coming in from, and left the rest near the window. I went on a week trip, came back and they’re all gone! I strongly do recommend using this if you have any problems.

My house became infested with ants when new sod was delivered. These cleared them within a day. I only a few here and there and used this brands spray around my house as well. Cleared it up and haven’t had an issue since

I had made this purchase of ant trickery upon my epiphany of the existence of such a product. Initially, I was indeed very skeptical on the claimed detrimental effects that such food would induce on the wee little critters. Upon my immediate, yet subtle placement of the treacherous food, I was appalled to discover the masses of the colony that had previously remained out of sight. Ultimately, I am indeed very satisfied with my purchase and very much recommend this to anyone who aims to strike fear into the lives of the unwelcome pests that intrude within the perimeters of your living space. I do wish you satisfaction in the event that you find reason to purchase this product. I express my sincere gratitude to those of you who have taken a moment of your day to employ your acquired literacy skills in comprehending this review. I bid thee adieu.

I moved into a Park 52 Property Management rental, and black ants are coming from the power outlets. I would think the property manager would do something but they won't. So these are affordable for me to control the ants. They are mess-free, they don't aerosolize so I feel that these are safe in all rooms. Doesn't smell bad or anything, really user friendly.

To use this product you have to cut or pull the top tab. How do the ants climb into the tube? After determining a proper position, it must have spilled out some of the liquid. That helped get rid of the ants. The design needs to be improved so that ants actually crawl into the tube.

Very easy to use, unfortunately the ants walked around it, unbothered and still alive. The ants were not attracted to it at all. Would have been great if it worked, but sadly it did not.

We appreciate your feedback. If ants are avoiding TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait, it’s possible they’re just not into sweets for one reason or another (weird, but possible!). When baiting is not the answer, try a contact killing spray or an outdoor treatment. We'd be happy to help you get the most of your purchase! Simply give us a call at 844-837-7644 for assistance.

Like someone else said: “it’s gets worse before it gets better”. You’ll see a massive and disgusting stream of ants coming for the baits, but soon they will just stop because they’ve either all died or brought it back to their friends. You’ll want to place it where kids or animals don’t go near for that reason - the stream of ants that you’ll get going towards the bait is like a stupid little ant caravan. These always work for us. We always get ants after it rains and this helps kill them off.

I suddenly had an ant problem and my friend shared with me to use this bait, they were coming from behind a bookcase of mine both up top and at the bottom so I wasn't able to find the exact source spot. Placed a bait at each area with a piece of paper underneath for potential spills- they slowly began going to it in no time. My friend warned me that it starts off with a small amount of ants then suddenly an army out of nowhere- and she was right, the ants were going up and down the side of the bookcase in a line to either bait for a whole day and then suddenly there was only a few stragglers left. I definitely recommend using 2 baits for first use- there really was a lot of them. Along with that, just give it a day, they may not immediately run to it but they will at some point you just have to be patient.
i get the small sugar ants now and again and these are the only ones that seem to work. definitely recomend

If you have an ant problem this has been the one product I have used that does not fail. It looks worse to start with because they all come to feed when you put this out, but in a couple of days you will not have any ants.

I never get ants but this year I had them on the pantry floor. I have five shelfs but they were only on the floor. My son told me to buy these so I did. You have to hold yourself back from killing any ants as they take this back to the nest and poison the whole group. This works amazing, read directions and watch the utube video!
