Amdro Ant Block Insect Killer 24 oz

I didn't care that ants were outside my home, but when they came up in the bathroom, I entered the ant wars. Over the period of two months I spread and watered in Bug-B-Gone granules (and videoed the ants walking through them the next day), soak-sprayed trails of ants and saturated all the ant nests I could find in my yard with well over 60 gallons from Bug-B-Gone and Spectracide concentrates, and put out over 30 Terro ant bait stations, as well as my own borax bait mix. The result? THE ANTS NEVER STOPPED!! Terro did seem to cut the herd, but after a couple of two or three days, there they were again. Then I shook out a perimeter of Amdro Ant Block, and almost all the ant trails were gone the next day. I did a little extra shaking directly on the remaining lines, and today: NO ANTS. Well, honestly, I did see one ant wondering around on the other side of the retaining wall, but there is still Amdro bait all around for it to find. All I can say is that when it came to stopping invading ants and winning the ant war, Amdro did it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have been using Amdro Fire Ant Bait for years with great success...until today. My wife treated three mounds in our yard in eastern NC and as she was working in the yard she noticed the ants were carrying the granules away from the mound about 18-24 inches, dropping the granules and returning to the mound to repeat the process. I'm stumped, any explanations?

They must have been hungry cause they took it all back to the nest.

I have used this product and the Amdro fire ant killer. Neither is effective at all. The ants take the granules and pile them up like other sand granules. They don't take it into the mound at all.

I dony know if they changed the formula when they changed the packaging or what, but I have sugar ants and odorous house ants. They used to come pick up these little pieces as soon as I'd lay it out, now they just walk straight past and over it and it doesn't keep them out of the house at all. I'm so disappointed as this was the only stuff that ever seemed to actually work and now it doesn't. :(

Over the past 6 months our yard has been over run with ants. They were building mounds all over the place, especially around our outdoor furniture and the strip of rocks we have next to our sidewalk. We first tried Terro granules and it appeared to help for maybe 2 weeks and then the ants came back with a vengeance. We found out it was only killing the ones on the surface that came in contact with it and the other ones were just moving the mounds. It was a nightmare. So we decided to give Amdro a try and oh my god, it worked instantly. I sprinkled it on the ground in the rock bed and watched as the ants went crazy, grabbing pieces of it left and right and taking it down into the mounds. I went back out the next morning and the mounds were completely empty. Went from seeing hundreds to maybe 1 or 2 in less than 24 hours. It's amazing! My only issue is it's also attracting to my dogs. I have to constantly watch them because they keep trying to eat it. They didn't have this problem with the other brands, not sure what it is about it this one. But as long as I keep them out of the treated area, it's all good. It's only been 24 hours so I'm going to keep monitoring the yard, but so far I'm super impressed with how quickly this stuff works and would definitely recommend it.

Used it for fire ants in Florida, ants in CA and WI and now we are using it for giant ant hills etc. at our home in Baja Mexico. There is nothing more effective than this product -carpenter ants, fire ants, big huge red ants, black ants, sugar ants. All take a hike when we use Amdro

I have black ants around my windows and window sills outside. I have a pest control company but they spray the perimeter once a quarter and it never really gets rid of them. I like the way Amdro Fire Ant killer works so I gave Amdro Any Block a try. Within 48 hours of applying, dead ants start appearing and live ants are much less. I will keep using it.

Carpenter ants have infested a dead spot in my tree. I cut off most of the area and sprinkled the bait around the base of the tree and also in the opening where they are living. The ants are not attracted to the bait. They actually are throwing it off the stump in disgust! Eventually the whole crew came out to clean house.

Every year the house is invaded by tiny black ants; found this product a couple of years ago so tried it out. I've been astounded at how well it works. I probably have to apply it a little more often because I don't use much; have to be careful to place it where the cat can't walk through it. But for us, it honestly doesn't seem to take much. Had a major infestation a month ago, used about three tablespoons along the trail, and the ants were gone in less than a day. Only wish the stuff was ground a little bit finer; some of the tiniest ants have trouble carrying it. They are the only ones who try coming into the house, although we have several species of ant in the yard, so I try to target only the troublemakers. Overall, terrific product for our needs!

I have been using over and out for a long time I have done research upon research on how to kill or rid your area of these fire ants fire ants know that I'm planning on going outside and they're right there waiting for me never fails I bought a bottle of your product loved absolutely loved the Shaker cap and did myself a small area watch the ants come within seconds of the bait hitting the ground and running right back into the mound with it I kept this one area in the center of my yard Aunt free amazing I have a big yard I am about to go out and buy enough product to do my entire yard the only thing I would suggest is changing your bottle and your Shaker cap so that it works more like a shaker because that was the best way to deal with it was shaking it on I loved it no other product at it but then I realized I had to squeeze the bottle and make it blow out instead of just shaking that's my only recommendation is the packaging product absolutely utterly amazing thank you thank you for saving endless nights of itching and sores and stinging God bless!

We've tried them all. We still had invasion. Every spring we get scouts. The thing you need to do is some under cover detective work. Follow the scouts to and fro. I do use a spray can around my whole door, close inner door but prop open screen door. Spray top, sides and floor, they're sneaky boogers. Then do at least a 3 ft perimeter of house with Amdro granuals. If you have pets keep them in the house while you're spreading Amdro!!! Either find the nest and poor a fair amount on it then place a covering (plastic, over turned flower pot, etc) so pets AND outdoor animals cant get to it. Put something heavy on top of. The reason is if N out door animal gets to it, they may drop it, die from and your animals may eat it, lick it. Ive been very ill for last 4 years so my husband has done it last 2 years. Im getting a little better so intend to regain my enjoyments, killing pesky ants is 1 of them. I walked in the yard the other day and I found ALL kinds of ant highways, uuggghhh! The ONLY issue I have is the price!! God believe me... Us senoirs and disabled, we can not afford Amdro products. I do have some "wivestale hacks" but wont publicize here so the people who can afford it and are just cheap skates. ANY coupons? Thank you for the products and this sound board. I applied a generous amount of ant block around my rock bed that is full of sugar ants. They walked right through it and over it into the garage anyway! Did not work for me!! I would not buy it again or recommend it for sugar ants!

I've tried alot of ant killer products and this AMDRO beats all. You can watch the ants go crazy to get the bait down the hole. Love this product and won't waste my money on anything else.

You can put this down where you see ants come back in 15 minutes and they are gone! My go to product.

I left an unfinished log cabin last winter. Carpenter Ants claimed Squatters Rights. I used a Can of insect killer then. I ordered and I received one 12 oz. bottle a couple weeks later which I used most on the perimeter 22' X 20' not a worry, I'd buy some more. At this point still seeing Ants. The next two days I watched a new nest from the trees attack the old now weak colony . Amazing. Then I had no trouble till the end of the summer early Fall. I watched a new expansion of Ants however I can't find a source for the 24 or 12 oz. bottles. Please help, I want to save my cabin. P.S. I'm in Canada, could get a Washington address if thats the only way. I'll take 48 oz. Please and Thanks.

We started to get ants in the back of our garage. Honestly it wasn't an infestation, but since getting to try this, figured why not. It's been a like over a month and I haven't seen anymore ants!

I didn't know how well it would work but I was very pleasantly surprised. We used it by our kitchen window and door and have not seen one any since!
