Great cappuccinos
I had this roast in a cappuccino for the first time two weekends ago at a specialty coffee shop near me and I absolutely loved it. It's actually the first cappuccino in a very long time where I literally said, "whoa" when I first tasted. So naturally I asked what coffee and roast they were using and they told me Counter Culture 46. I went back the next weekend and bought it again and it was just as I remembered--just fantastic. So then I went to my Whole Foods, which I knew carried this coffee and picked up a very recent roast dated package. So I have been making it for myself at home and have been enjoying it tremendously. I used a d64 grinder and the Cafelat robot. Fairlife whole milk. Highly recommended.

Buy it, no regrets!
Amazing!! Not bitter, low acid, low smoke just taste smooth chocolate with no aftertaste. This year I bought a Breville Oracle Jet and decided to go on a bean exploration. I quickly found I didn’t really like many of the brands I thought I would. With this machine set to 29 grind, I can easily say forty six was just a clear winner for me and my son. I have tried many beans since and there is just no comparison.

Really good beans.
This is the best coffee around, and quite dark and full flavor. The only coffee I drink. The beans are small and perfectly roasted, when I shared it with friends and family, they loved it. Not bitter and great for a French press.

Amazing Dark Roast Bean
I first had this at a coffee stand and thought it was the best coffee I had ever had from a stand! I recently purchased for my breville and it is an exemplary espresso bean. It extracts well, has a beautiful creama and is the perfect dark roast bean for Americanos! I ordered online and got super fresh beans!

The cup you care about day after day
Excellent smell before you even buy the bag and then that carries over in the grinding session and we'll into the brewing. So nothing is lost in any part of the experience.

Won’t be disappointed!
My second product and I’m in love! Forty Six is perfect for a delicious latte. I use a Breville Barista Pro and have my inner burr at 4 and grind size at 8. This is exactly as described with flavor profiles of dark chocolate and sweet. The dark roast really helps with no acid reflux issues. My roast date 10/30/2025 and received just a few days later. Easy checkout and fast shipping. Glad I picked Forty Six and can’t wait to try more! I paired my Forty Six roast espresso with a salted caramel syrup and let me tell you it was in belly faster than normal 😆

Excellent espresso
One of my favs for espresso. Tastes like a melted 85% cacao bar. Thick with great mouthfeel like espresso should be!! I drink it straight but imagine it would make fantastic milk drinks.

Quite literally the best dark roast I’ve ever had. I’m actually sad I’m not buying local anymore.

Forty-Six Blend
Dialed in the shots and could not get thick syrupy dark chocolate taste shots, espressos were somewhat thin and with a bright fruity taste.

Great Cup
I did a 14:1 with 35g ground at 15 on my Encore with my Ratio 4. A wonderful cup, with a deep complex body. Definite dark chocolate. This will be a regular for me!

Please sell in bulk
The coffee is fine, but buying 12 oz bags at high prices is a non-starter. I would consider re-purchasing if it becomes available in 2 - 5 lb bags at suitably reduced bulk pricing and free shipping.

There is no better blend!
This is a tried and true favorite. It was my first bag of coffee beans I ever tried. I bought a few other brands and blends of beans when I ran out of these (greedily just to see if there was anything better - there’s not!), but I always come back to the 46 blend. It is full and round, smooth and bold, and so delicious without being overwhelming. It is literally perfect. It is my go-to bag for making lattes.

Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed
I was promised a dark, rich, smoky experience, but what I was given was a kind of no man's land between light and dark where nothing really stood out. The bean itself is on the lighter end of dark, really closer to a medium roast. There are no oils like you'd expect with a real darker roast. It has a balanced flavor profile, which isn't bad, it's just not what the advertising promised or what I was looking for when I bought these beans.

Superior Coffee!
Love all the coffee from Counter Culture! The beans are super fresh, great tasting and work magnificently in my Jura grinder. Forty six and gradient are our favorites.
