The optical performance is a direct result of a totally new lens design, highlighted by two Ultra-low Dispersion glass elements and an Aspheric element. The RF-S10-18mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM delivers reliable, speedy and quiet wide-angle performance, making it an ideal lens for vlogging, video, travel, landscapes, interiors, or simply for creative imagery.

Fine Optics, Useful Zoom Range, Lightweight

I use this lens when making up-close product photos and it works fine. Nice clear and clean images, excellent zoom range and useful for movies also. I wish it focused closer (like the Panasonic Lumix it replaced which was nearly a macro).

Get in Close or Take in the Whole Scene!

This is a very handy lens. The RF-S10-16 allows me to get in close or take in the whole scene. At f4.5-6.3, I thought it would be a pretty much outdoor only lens, but it does OK inside with a medium ISO. it does a decent job even at 6 inches.
