Q: Should I be taking this with my Ritual prenatal? (Aka 4 pills each morning?) I want to make sure I understand how the supplement works and not taking too much/too little!

  • A: Yes, Natal Choline is designed to be taken alongside Ritual Prenatal, so taking both together is okay. That would mean your Prenatal plus Natal Choline daily (4 capsules total). We formulated Natal Choline specifically to complement the amount of choline already in the prenatal, since many people don’t meet recommended choline needs through diet alone during pregnancy. That said, choline needs can vary based on diet and individual health considerations. If you’re already getting a significant amount of choline from foods (like eggs, meat, or certain legumes), or if your OB or midwife has given you specific guidance, it’s always a good idea to check in with them to make sure the combined intake feels right for you.

Tolerable, but difficult with bad nausea

I can’t tell if this did anything to make my health better, as I have been dealing with severe nausea and other pregnancy-related symptoms. I got these to supplement the prenatal vitamins I am taking from this brand, as the prenatals provide only 10% choline per serving. The capsules themselves are large and require two per serving, just like the regular prenatals, so I have to split up the doses throughout the day, as it’s hard to take all four at once. The good part is they have a light citrus scent and don’t have any taste or cause me any aftertaste or burps.

Shady Business Practices

I made a large order consisting of $215 worth of vitamins and supplements and you guys billed it as a subscription rather than a one time purchase. I want my $215 back if you guys want me to continue purchasing your products.

Terrible taste/smell

I’m sure the lemon scent masks something worse, but the artificial smell and taste really is the worst. Especially being pregnant. It’s very, very hard to stomach these.

I love eggs but the amount that I would need to prep my body for pregnancy is excessive. These are great! They smell great, taste neutral and do the job.

Horrible taste

I like that the company has 3rd party tested ingredients, but regardless of that the taste of these pills is absolutely horrible. So bad I find myself having to pep talk myself before taking them. I’m in the first trimester and nauseated by a lot right now. I often vomit them up immediately after taking them.

Use for clogged ducts

I started taking choline during postpartum. I was getting reoccurring clogged ducts but couldn’t take sunflower lecithin. I learned that our bodies turn the lecithin into choline so I decided to skip the middle man. I still get clogs but they clear up much quicker than they did before taking choline. I really enjoy the citrus essence these have too.

Like the product, hate the packaging

I do really like this choline supplement and am happy it isn't too large and has a good flavor. However, the packaging needs changed. It does not have a child proof lid and I really do not understand why not. I have to be very conscious of where I put it to ensure it isn't within reach of my children.

Excellent product!

I took these supplements during pregnancy and am still taking them during postpartum. I would recommend researching choline supplementation, the research convinced me to get an extra supplement. These were very easy to take and I took them along with the Ritual prenatal vitamin. My son was born and he is very strong and healthy as well as super alert (when he is awake). I’m curious to see if the supplement has long term beneficial impact to his health and wellbeing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product as well as doing your own research on the benefits of choline supplementation during pregnancy.

Lovee it!

During pregnancy it is very difficult to take certain medications due to nausea. Ritual has been my lifesaver, they are very easy to take and have many benefits that help during pregnancy.

Terrible Taste

I love that Ritual offers traceability of all ingredients - it definitely makes me feel like I am getting the maximum value. I instantly added Natal Choline to my cart when it became available (try as I might, I don't think I'm getting enough from my diet alone). Unfortunately the capsules have an incredibly strong taste that is impossible to ignore. I have a bit of a struggle every morning with swallowing the capsules fast enough to minimize the terrible taste. However there are no "aftertaste burps" once they are swallowed (and taking them with juice avoids any lingering taste in the mouth). I will likely continue to take these pills because the benefits outweigh the unpleasantness but they are hard to recommend.
