Good attempt, quality and tolerances not there yet
Decent price for the amount of pieces and difficulty. However, the brick quality is not the greatest, way too difficult to get the bricks to fit tightly, leaving visible gaps

Awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for Christmas and it was a 2 day build but fun. After 3 months my glass pieces broke but I'm not mad 😃 But still Mattle did a good job

Fantastic build. Bricks don’t go together as smooth as Lego brand but still very good clutch between bricks. Matell is a great brand alternative

Ive collected the bigger Lego car models for years now, when I saw Hot Wheeels version and it was half the price of the Lego versions I figured I would give it a try. Building the Hot Wheels model was just as good of an experience as building the Lego models even though there are different peices. Hot Wheels has more custom pieces and this is where the things differ from lego, for the price, getting more cusome pieces, metal pieces, and better alignment on the printed pieces... you cant beat that! Honestly, after its built, I would say the Hot Wheels looks better, more realistic because of those custome pieces. I will be buying the Hot Wheels Premium Series whenever they are released, especially if they keep the price lower then lego.

I found that this is one of the best sets I've bought. It has a lot of details that look great and really show the car at it's best. The 2 n 1 for this is great for which ever version you like.

Love it
It was a perfect experience. I enjoyed the build and the manual was easy to understand. The car looks great. Nice touch with the racing version and the temporary bricks to support model while building.

The car the kept falling apart
In the box, this car looks like an amazing project. However, the further I got into it, the more furstrated I got. You put on section together and something falls off. While having a light touch may work for some brick builds, it did not work for this one. It seems like the connections were misaligned or they pieces would not stay connected. I would also note that the instructions seemed backwards. Why have steps to put something under the car, when the top of the car is already put together. I managed to get all the way to the end, where you have to turn the car upside down, and I do mean gently turn it upside down to add the muffler on, add the tires and add the mattel plate and other pieces started falling off. Pieces that were secured and I didnt have an issue with. I love these kinds of projects, and I loved the look of the car, in the box, but for what it costs, I will expected better quality. Right now, the car is sitting my project table, where the doors, and back glass came off, whatever is under the car has come loose and the back part of the car has disconnected altogether. I wish I could have given this more that 2 stars. What's crazy is that I have put together several large lego projects, so I know pieces can pop off, but for the whole thing to fall apart is very disappointing. I don't know if I want to take the whoe thing apart and start over or just walk away from it. Quality is important. While I also bought the Corvette to put together, I will likely return it.

I managed to find this one on sale for 50 bucks. 50 bucks. For 1000+ pieces, a RLC equivalent car and a gorgeous final product, I'd say that's more than worth it.

Does not stay together - buy if u will display only
Looks great so long as you don’t touch it. If you have a child that wants to play with it - the second you touch it, it falls apart. You press one piece in, another snaps off. This is the difference between Mattel and Lego I guess.

My son was thrilled with the Christmas present. Started putting it together on Christmas Day. It’s all together and it’s very cool. For reference, he is 14 yrs old.

Get it on fire sale, or else
Mattel's "Brick Shop" is quite obviously a Lego knockoff. Fit & finish isn't quite there and the (re)placement of pieces are more difficult than they should be. They even give you a pry tool to solve what they know is an issue out of the box. No issues with the instructions, the metal parts are more a hassle than not -- the center mirror flops out easily. got it for $49 which is barely what it was worth, don't pay full price.

Far superior
Far superior to a Lego high dollar model. You had to put decals for everything. This Mercedes came with everything printed on the pieces. It's more realistic than the Lego. I wish they had more models. I have bought all of them already.

A incredible way to connect two worlds!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a great fan of the 300SL casting and when I saw the brick shop lineup just wondered which castings would come and for my surprise the first premium was this RLC Like execution of the Mercedes. The metal accessories are a great add as well. The building process is very fun and each step makes you more and more enthusiastic about it. Great lineup.
