Q: Some mattress pads make you hotter when you sleep. Any feedback in this area?

  • A: Hello! You have posted a very good question. But, I would like to put your question into context. There is are several factors that go into a mattress pad or what appears to be a mattress pad sleeping hot. Starting with the mattress, varying types of mattresses have different heat factors. For example memory foam whether on the top of mattress or mattress being 100% memory foam can cause a warm sleeping environment. Next are the sheets, blankets, comforters, etc. have differing effect on the sleeping environment temperature. For the mattress pad, cotton covers offer the best option to have a natural cooling. Second, many fabrics and fills offer water wicking which allows the moisture in or on the mattress pad to dissipate or spread out to help promote a more comfortable nights sleep. So, it was a long way to your answer, but the Casaluna mattress pad does offer one of the best mattress pad options to promote a more comfortable (not as hot) sleep environment. It offers a cotton cover with water repellant/wicking treatment. I apologize for long comment. But, I prefer the Target Guest get the information about making their bedding purchase decisions.     The thin stretchy edge is worthless! Soo strechy it would fit a 30" mattress not 20.

    Nothing keeping it on the bed. The thin mesh elastic ring that is supposed to hold it on the bed is so very wide and loose fitting that the top slides down nearly a FOOT from the top of the bed. The topper is HOT and doesn't cool down. The WORST mattress pad I've ever seen & I've seen some really bad ones. The 2nd image is to show it's completely under the bed and how far it stretches--so you're the edge of the padding slides down into the sleeping area of the bed.

    A Hole in One ( wash before using)

    I picked it up yesterday and washed it today, in extra large machine before putting it on the bod. I open package I noted a thin piece of fabric the same as the “tuck in” part. Still I didn’t see anything else wrong, but there is a lot of fabric there. I figured a shred of fabric from the factory is no surprise on this type of item. When I took it out of the wash, a seam had come apart. Wow.
