Q: drain hose is connected, but bucket is filling up with water. is unit defective or why is bucket filling up with water. I have connected a regular screw on hose for draining.

A: Thank you for your question. You do not need to replace the filter. It is removable and reusable. To clean it, remove the water tank and pull the filter out from the rear of the unit. Use a vacuum cleaner to gently remove dust. If it’s very dirty, wash it with water and mild detergent, then dry it completely before reinstalling.

Hopefully it will outperform the name brand unit it is replacing
I decided to see if it worked any better and lasted longer than the name-brand unit I had been using, which had recently failed after only a few years of use. It’s obvious that I won’t know the unit’s true lifespan for many years to come, but its initial performance is promising.

It works well.
In order to determine how much water it is consuming, I do not have the drain tube plugged in at this time.
