Disney Villainous: Treacherous Tides introduces two new unique characters to the Villainous game system: Davy Jones and Tamatoa. With swashbuckling good card strategy, players try to achieve their individual goal to become the biggest villain. This expandalone can be played on its own or combined with other Disney Villainous games. Wield their cards well to plot, scheme, and conquer your way to victory in this immersive game for the wicked.
Each Villain’s deck of cards is designed with a unique gameplay strategy inspired by the films you love; no two villains work toward the same goal, and these two villains are no exception.
The heart of gameplay is simple. Move your Villain’s sculpted mover, use actions to play your cards, and draw from your opponents’ Fate deck to disrupt their carefully made plans with meddling heroes. But as in all Villainous games, each’s villain’s objective is unique.
As Davy Jones, the first live action Villain featured in the Villainous game system, you must find and flip all 5 treasures to prove the most cunning villain.
As Tamatoa you must add Maui’s Hook and The Heart of Te Fiti to his impressive hoard of shiny objects.

Welcome Additions
Villainous is a family favorite and we love collecting the various villains to play against each other. Tamatoa’s game mechanics, however, are too passive. Disney also cut the number of characters per box down to two (from three characters) several sets ago, which is unfortunate.

Some things you should know first
False advertising of the game. The images show one version unique to target, however what you get is the basic version of the game. Just be aware, if all you want is the game and which version doesn't matter to you, then you will be happy with the buy. Just be aware of the slower playstyle of these two characters as well.

Great expansion but need to sleeve the cards immediately!
Great expansion with two new villains. The quality of the cards seems to have gone down hill in that with just normal shuffling (no riffle shuffle even), the cards started to get marked, so please sleeve the cards as soon as you get them to avoid damaging the cards. Quality aside, the two villains are interesting. They would not be ones I would use to teach the game with since they are slow and require several steps to obtain victory. (For example, Davey Jones requires five treasures. To get a treasure, you first need a hero to be played in your realm (there are cards in the deck to help with that), the treasure needs to be revealed (only a couple cards for that), and then defeat the hero. Again, not a "beginner" villain.) For the $12 price tag, it was great to add in these two villains (just sleeve the cards!!!)

False advertising
I purchased this from target because it is advertised as the target exclusive edition with the special sleeve and game piece. I received just the basic game that is not exclusive to target. Definitely false advertising.

Bad shipping
Ravensburg did another fantastic job on this expansion. Everything was great except how the game was packaged and delivered. The attached photo is the remains of a fire cracker that went off when I opened the box. Needless to say me, my oets and my neighbors all had a scare. I would highly recommend the game but I wouldn't have shipped by target.

Randomly found this on a clearance endcap for 13.99… (said online only) more than happy about that. Just like with other Villainous’ there is a balance issue. It is best to add it to the lineup and try and fine comparable characters. (Or not and just enjoy the game). Best of luck.

Fantastic Gsme!!
I love playing as the new villains!! Tamatoa is surprisingly challenging to win with, but my wife won with him on her first try. Davy Jones is my new favorite Villain to play (previously Dr. Facilier) and they're both balanced with other characters. 10/10 would recommend!!!
