ALERT!! Quality change. I’ve been using these bamboo paper towels for several years and they have been amazing. My most recent purchase- multiple large boxes (target was running a $20 off deal for every hundred dollars spent, so I was stocking up) I noticed that the outer wrapping was much thicker than it normally is. Normally the outer packaging paper is pretty thin and tears easily, never bothered me because the product is high-quality. THIS TIME… the outer paper wrapping was incredibly thick and the paper towels are absolute trash, they are so THIN. What happened!!! It’s like they reversed the quality of the packing and the quality of the actual product. I wonder if they made the outer layer thicker to psychologically subconsciously hope you don’t realize the product quality difference. I’ve seen reviews that made claims like this in the past for other products, but have never experienced anything like this myself. I’m very disappointed and mostly heartbroken because now I have to find a different brand. I’m also stuck with a whole bunch of boxes of low quality paper towels that I don’t want. Better off going to the dollar store. I don’t know if this is a one off or if this is how REEL has permanently decided to maintain quality. Either way, extremely disappointing. I wish I could find a half used “old roll“ somewhere to show the quality difference. I hope the toilet paper quality doesn’t also fail…

Love that these are toxic-free and it’s even better that they don’t cut down trees!

Good ingredients alternative but expensive

Agree with everyone on significant decline in quality since August 2026. I’ve been buying since it launched at Target a couple of years ago (I haven’t noticed this issue with the Reel toilet paper yet)

Slightly worse than Bounty but much more expensive.

I have been buying these paper towels for a few years. My husband and I both noticed a significant drop in quality with the last purchase. It appears they have gone from 3-ply to 2-ply. They're no longer strong and tear like tissue paper. They're unuseable, so now back on the hunt for a high quality, natural paper towel.

So disappointed in the change that was made to these. I e been buying them for the last 2 years and this last batch I bought are completely different….thin, crispy sounding and I have to to use twice as many as before. Time to find another brand. I pray they do not change their toilet paper.

I replaced bounty with this brand and never going back! Durable quality and I use for cleaning up any mess

This brand reformulated their towels from 3-ply to 2-ply. They used to be the best bamboo towels out there but now they're thin and barely absorbant.

I have been using these paper towels for a couple years and they are not what they once were. The paper towels used to be decently thick and absorbent. Now, they are so flimsy and thin and not absorbent at all. It’s not cost effective or economical because I now have to use WAY more sheets to wipe up liquids, so the rolls do not last as long as they used too. It seems like the brand lowered the quality so customers have to use more sheets at a time, thus having to purchase more often. I’m so disappointed. Will have to try a different brand.

These last me a very long time. The quality is excellent. They’re not the softest, but aren’t too hard either. I’ll still repurchase for the simple fact they don’t have the harsh chemicals like other brands.

For the past two years, these were the best paper towels. But recently the quality dropped drastically. They are less than half as thick as they used to be, and tear like tissue paper now.

The quality of the paper towels has gone down a lot. They are rough, scratchy and tear easily. They used to be my favorite paper towels but now they feel cheap. Whatever they changed recently made the paper towels much worse.

I used to love this brand and the paper towels but the quality has drastically declined. They used to be thick and strong paper towels, but the newest box I received was thin and had a different design. The rip so easily now. I don’t know what’s happened but these are no longer worth the price.

These used to be great, but they’ve now turned into the worst paper towels I’ve ever tried. They’re so thin and the 2-ply sheets come apart.

I feel better about buying paper towel, for a while I just stopped buying paper towel until I learned about Reel. Absorbs great, awesome for cleaning glass. I have been trying to find more sustainable and less plastic items for my classroom. Reel paper towel is great because it's also non toxic. 👍
