At first I was extremely frustrated and thinking I must have got a broken one. But then I realized I was doing it wrong. Once I figured it out, it is very sturdy and secure! Originally wanted a walk thru gate to make things easier, but wasn't ready to spend that much. This gate is short enough to easily step over though, so hasn't been a big deal. Happy with my purchase!
Great gate at a great price! My daughter is now walking all over the place and it is nice to be able to keep her from going down the hallway or into certain rooms. It has been a lifesaver during this work from home time! She is attracted to lights and used to enter the room and started walking straight into the room and zeroing in on the computer's power button shutting things down in the middle of us typing - without even giving us a chance to save!!! Now we can work from home in peace without being shut down 10 times a day.
The gate is easy to put up and take down, easy to move around and strong enough to serve its purpose.
It took me a while to figure out why the gate wasn't fitting tightly enough in the doorway. I think some people who said that the gate wasn't tight enough were turning the knob the wrong way. Once it was in properly it's perfect.
