[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was already my favorite dye, but with the new bonder in it I love it even more. This is the absolute best black dye on the market. It doesn’t fade into green or any weird color, isn’t blue toned or red, it’s just a true jet black. I have always heard revlon black hair dye was the best and trust me when I say, my biggest hair regret was never trying it until now. A godsend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Revlon has always been my go-to box dye- it’s affordable, it works great and they have so many different shades to choose from. You can see in the before picture that I had a decent amount of regrowth; unfortunately I have been going gray since my 20’s, so this is pretty routine for me. I will say that I noticed the formula is a bit more watery than normal- you’ve got to be quick during application. I used a brush to help catch the drips. I did also notice the bottle getting warm which concerned me, but nothing happened. The scent of the conditioner is also different- I prefer the original scent to be honest. All in all, this works great! Covered my grays and looks natural!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dye worked fantastic to cover my grays. I love the deep color of the black and it blended in seamlessly with my current hair. It was easy to apply, the only frustrating part was that you need to have scissors to open the hair dye bottle and the after dye conditioner. While waiting for it to be ready to wash out, it did itch, but what hair dye doesn’t?! I usually have trouble with hair dye, leaving black marks on my skin around my face for a couple days (which is embarrassing because even makeup doesn’t cover it), but this one came off very easy. The odor wasn’t too strong or pungent like some other dyes I have used, and it didn’t leave my hair smelling weird after rinsing. I will be using this brand in the future for sure.

It does it's job and well. Love the bottle too as the nib isn't open enough for there to be too much product dispensed. this color always wears well in my hair, does not fade, highly recommend

The box came with everything you need to color your hair. The black shade was a perfect match for me. It also has a very pleasant smell unlike some products. After washing out the color I used the conditioner provided and oh man… it made my hair silky smooth and shine so very pretty.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This did not cover all my grays, and with each shampoo, more and more color comes off. It also didn’t really lighten my roots to light brown. The picture shows my roots after one week. On the upside, it smelled better than most as it is ammonia-free, and it did add shine. The shade is almost perfect for me, so I was pretty disappointed. I’ve been doing this a long time, and this is one of the worst box colors I’ve tried in terms of results.

The color came out rich and even, and my hair felt surprisingly soft afterward not dry or straw like like some dyes can leave it. The Bond Repair Complex really seemed to help keep my hair smooth and shiny. The color lasted well for a few weeks before fading. Overall, it’s a great drugstore option if you want affordable color with a bit of hair care built in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally use L’Oreal Preference, usually a level 6, light golden brown. Preference burns my eyes a lot. The Revlon Colorsilk did not burn at all! The scent was nice, not overpowering. My hair feels very nice afterwards. BUT the color is way darker than I expected. I used color 54, light golden brown. It looks really dark and mousy in bathroom light. Sunlight picks up more of the reddish tones. I’ll give it a few days to oxidize before coloring again or putting some highlights in it to lighten it up a bit. My ends are really really dark. I kind of wish Revlon used a normal hair color level description for their colors. It’s confusing that they just use a random number instead of 4 or 8 or whatever.
