I've had this camera for a year now and so far it's done a good job recording and capturing things, however the battery dies WAY TOO FAST. I have to charge it at least once every two weeks. I have the settings set the same as my Ring 1080p Wireless Video Doorbell and this one dies so much faster than my other one which is also cheaper and does the same job. This camera could use improvement on battery life. I would say that's the only flaw.

The battery dies fast, notifications aren't consistent and when doorbell is pushed it stays on. Too late for return as I just figured out this may be draining the battery. This is my 3rd ring doorbell and the worst.

The RING battery doorbell plus was super easy to install and provides full image HD plus video, motion detection alerts and two-way talk. I’m able to see and talk to anyone at my door and I feel much safer with the RING cameras on my doors! The unit has a quick release battery pack that easily recharges with long lasting life. Anotherr cool feature is that it works with Alexa. For the safety and protection this provides it’s proved phenomenally well!

My partner bought two of these for our house. We finally charged them and got around to setting them up. Only one of them works. I have two doors, thus the need for 2 functioning doorbells. To late to return them after the return window. Such junk.

This charges with a micro USB & takes “up to 10 hours to charge”.. & it’s only 1536 pixels! How is this brand the first video doorbell ever created in 2013 & still have these specs in 2024?!

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is designed with the ability to customize based on your home's environment and provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure your device is set up for optimal performance. While batteries in Ring devices can go months between recharges with normal use, this is dependent on a number of factors in your home's environment, such as the local weather and the number of activities captured. The more events captured by your Ring doorbell, the more your battery is used to power the live HD video stream to your device. Even if you do not answer the call, video is still sent from your Ring product to the Ring servers. In addition, the battery is also drained each time you use the live view to look at or speak through your camera. As most of our Ring cameras and doorbells are powered by lithium-ion batteries, it's important to note that at temperatures below 40 °F, the battery is less effective at holding a charge and may require more frequent recharges. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal performance. Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically. You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion. The doorbell has a good line of sight from my front porch, all the way out to my garage. I can see a lot more than I thought. I have had the Ring stick up cam for years and decided to move that to the backyard and get an actual doorbell cam. It works better than expected and I am happy with the purchase.

The motion sensitivity on this doorbell camera is AWFUL. The camera will capture & alert me when the lawn flag in front of my door blows in the wind, but somehow will NOT capture a person on my front porch. I have adjusted the settings and called support (completely unhelpful). Don't waste your money! The motion sensors simply do not work!

It sounds like your device is not detecting the motion that you want it to. For the best results, you will want to mount the doorbell about four feet (1.20 meters) above the ground. If your device is mounted on angled siding, atop a set of stairs, or higher than four feet, a wedge kit can be used to angle your device down for a better view and more accurate motion detection. If your device is mounted optimally and is still not picking up the motion you want it to, there are a few settings that may need to be adjusted. Camera Motion Zones can help you detect motion in the areas that matter the most to you and reduce the number of "false" motion alerts (such as cars driving by). Follow these tips to optimize your camera's motion zones: Make your Ring device's view as clear as possible. Motion detection can sometimes trigger "false" alerts because of moving trees, lightning, the rising or setting sun, reflections off a shiny object, headlights, shadows, and more. To reduce false alerts, adjust your Motion Zones, remove shiny objects, cut back tree branches that create moving shadows, or angle your device to avoid the sun. Look for high-traffic areas. I have DVR security cameras and I have never had problems with them, this ring doorbell sends notifications whenever it wants. Just now a neighbor passed by the Camera and I did not receive any notification, I saw it on my Sance security camera system. Wasted money.

This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property. Thank you for your diligence and commitment in working with our community support towards resolving this matter. This camera uses Adjustable Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance under the Motion Settings tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the Motion Frequency setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the Motion Frequency to 'Frequently'.It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This includes increasing the "Motion Sensitivity" and setting "Motion Frequency" to "Frequently" in the Ring app. Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling Smart Alerts for people only in your Ring app. To enable Smart Alerts: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left. It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Ring Battery Doorbell Plus is Ring’s upgraded smart doorbell with super clear HD+ video and expanded head-to-toe field of view. From package deliveries and motion detection to visitors, you’ll see it all from wherever you are right in the Ring app. For an enhanced notification experience, we recommend turning on the Rich Notifications feature in the Ring app. Rich Notifications send you a snapshot image of what’s happening in front of your Ring security camera or video doorbell so you can easily see what’s going on without needing to open the Ring app. They are included in your Ring Protect subscription. You may need to update your mobile device's operating system and download the latest version of the Ring app to access the latest in-app features. When a Rich Notification appears, you can expand the notifications to zoom in and see a bigger version of the image. The process of expanding the image is a little different for iOS and Android. On iOS follow these instructions to enable the feature: Tap and hold the thumbnail to open up the full-frame snapshot.
