Review from a professional
This is a professional grade microphone. It needs an XLR cable, and you need an audio interface to connect it to your computer. These things are sold separately, and that's the name of the game in the world of pro audio. This mic does not deserve a bad review because you failed to understand how it works. It's too bad that reviewers can't be reviewed, because then you'd know to ignore the feedback provided by an absolute dolt. This mic sounds great for the price. Please bear in mind that audio requires post-processing to make it sound podcast or radio-like, so don't expect it to provide those results out of the box. A kitchen mixer doesn't automatically make am amazing cake - you gotta put in the work. If you can leave a review on Target.com, you can probably look stuff up on youtube - it aint that hard.

**READ** Ignore Bad Reviews
hey everyone im here to type my review for the dumb people below who have no common sense. this mic is GREAT for its price. its a steal and sounds amazing. for the ones who dont do their research please note that yes this does not come with an XLR cable and this also applies to many other mics out there that dont include it either. yes u do need an xlr interface to plug it in to with a xlr cable so it can turn on. but besides that this mic sounds really good for its price. this can be compared to a blue yeti which is around the same price BUT if ur looking for something u can plug directly into ur computer id suggest going for that. there are usb mics u can plug straight in with an xlr connection being optional. theres many usb mics out there that are good and id say go for the blue yeti which is also considered a podcast mic. if u DONT have an interface and a xlr cable hanging around you can save a few bucks upgrading to a shure mv7+ or anything in the mv7 line since its also an amazing usb mic with an optional xlr connection. it has its own software and is one of the go-to microphones if ur on a budget. but besides that , this mic is great if u got everything!

Terrible
First off it does not come with any cables. Second to even use this mic at all you need to purchase $200 or more things from rode to even turn the mic volume up so stupid. Waste of money.

Røde PodMic
The manufacturer should put a sticker on the outside of the box letting customers know it doesn’t come with a power cord. But it should for the price &200.00!

Does not come with cord
I do not like that it doesn’t come with a cord, so you have to buy it separately
