Safety 1st Connected Smart Family Scale

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This safety 1st scale is a very neat thing to have in our household. It was packaged well and I like that the color is very neutral and modern black and white. It was very easy to set up the baby portion of the scale, but also can be easily taken apart when you are all done for easy storage. The app was very easy to download and use thanks to the user manual containing the QR code right on the front! Once you open the app, it is a quick sign up and add by each child or yourself to the profile so that way you can track each person individually. It was very easy to have each one of my kiddos get weighed, my 10 month old sat on the longer attachment, and loved that it had the lock pieces with it, and my 11 year old and 6 year old were weighed as normal standing. No issues reading their weights. I do think that if I had this scale when my younger one was an infant, it would also have been just as easy. I like that this scale is very versatile and that all of my family can use it from the smallest one, to even dad! The Safety 1st Connected Digital Family Scale has a unique design in my opinion. While others may be the traditional scale or glass, this was looked modern with a digital LED display. This scale does come with a removable baby tray (pulls apart in two pieces off of the scale clips) which I was able to use my 4.5 month old daughter and (4) AAA batteries. This scale is my favorite because I can use it for myself, my family/friends, and the most important person, my daughter! While this is our first baby, we get super duper excited for routine visits to see how much our daughter has grown. THIS SCALE DOES THAT. We get the fun of measuring our own baby at home without having to go to the doctor's office/hospital where it's nice to avoid all those who are sick. You are most welcome to measure your babies with the clothes on, however, we measured our daughter without any clothes, the same way they do at the doctor's office for precise weight and height. Once the scale was turned on, we waited a second for it to reset itself. Then after we put our daughter on the scale, it took about 4-5 seconds for it display the weight and after comparing our After Visit Summaries from our hospital's myChart, it was eerily similar. The scale does come with a cork mat (washable) which is used to measure the length of the baby. For a pictured example, Spice, our beautiful kitty cat just so happened to volunteer herself. She has fur but does not have any clothes on and the scale weighed her pretty quick with an automatic hold which is great for those squirmy babies! Because we are in the era where everything we utilize can be connected in some form of technology, this scale can be paired on the Safety 1st app so that you can keep track of everyone's measurements. I've taken one star off because it was hard to connect to my WI-FI which would have been able to connect automatically and sync measurements to a secure cloud. Although it may or may have not been the app's fault, I wish that I was able to input the measurements anyway without the WI-FI. The app is also nicely designed and is functional especially for the folks who do not have a lot of experience with technology so that's a plus. Overall, I mostly enjoyed the use of the scale for my baby girl. This really made me happy to know that I can weigh her properly at home without having to go to the doctor's office! The design is modern which is nice to have at home and it's lightweight. The only other complaint I have is that with the scale being used for adults and babies, the removable tray is a little hard to wiggle off and you would need additional space to store it. Other than that, I think it is a well thought of design and would love to give this as a baby shower gift!

We have five children and I’m glad a can track each of their weights on his or her own profile in the app. I love the comfortable cork tray for our baby. I can use the scale to calculate how much milk he has eaten in a feeding. I wish I had this scale as a first time mom when my oldest had a hard time eating. My son was born at 7lbs 15oz, and he lost almost 10% of his body weight by the time we left the hospital on 2/9 and was jaundiced. The hospital pediatrician showed concern and asked that we make an appointment to see our normal pediatrician ASAP to monitor his weight. Having the Safety 1st Connected Digital Family Scale at home was essential to monitoring his weight without having to wait for his appointments! We were able to weigh and measure him with the attached tray, and it was quick and easy to set up. The app was easy to install and navigate. Very user friendly. This is something that I would buy myself and recommend to others, especially moms with babies. I loved the sleek look and design of the scale. It wasn’t too heavy with the baby scale attached. It was so nice to be able to use the baby scale attachment to track the weight of baby and I even used it for weighted feed tracking. Also great to be able to detach the baby part and use it for the adults in the house so it’s multipurpose and longevity for the house is a plus. I do wish there was a storage bag or box for the infant part for when not in use. I personally had a hard time connecting the app but you are able to use it without the app if needed but the app is nice to keep track of the weights for you. Overall, I think this is a great scale and would recommend it!

The accompanying app is user-friendly, but hard to set up with wifi as you need to contact internet provider to have 2.5Gz. Weighing my baby girl was easy, specially as she is in the newborn stage it was easy with the tare function, and other family members found it convenient for tracking their progress.

The infant scale curves up enough to help contain my wiggly baby when trying to weigh him, and my toddler loved that he could use the same scale as baby brother and mom and dad. I wish I'd had it sooner so I could have measured his height, too. The app has a ton of features including tracking all the baby stuff (feeds, poops, sleep, etc) but I like it most for easily tracking my postpartum weight loss, as well as baby weight gain with percentile charts. So far everyone in the family is loving it! I'm really looking forward to getting to use it more as the kids grow!

The Safety 1st scale saved me a lot of extra time and worry! I love how sleek this scale looks and it was very easy to put together. I also appreciate the length measurements as part of the baby scale mat. This scale made it pretty easy to weigh the baby although it did take longer to lock on a weight and baby got squirmy. After she got used to sitting for a couple of seconds it got easier. There is also the capability to weigh adults which makes it very nice and you don’t need multiple scales. The app was mostly easy to use and very user friendly. I love that is shows me my baby’s percentiles and helps me understand her growth. Overall it is a very nice addition to our home and I’m very thankful to have a reliable source to make sure my baby is gaining weight.

It has a classic scale look to it, it reminds me of a doctors office. The actual scale itself is very sturdy, as well as the baby weight attachment. It also comes with a really cool cork mat that you can measure your baby with! It helped my son from rolling around on it, thank goodness! It was very simple to set up & use. There is a touch screen to power it on/off, as well as which weight conversion you would like. I love how it waits until your baby sits still before it calculates the weight. This is an excellent scale to use if you are EBF and would like to do weighted feeds or just to have to keep track of your child’s weight. It’s a total bonus that the entire family can use it too! It also comes with an app, which I did have a little bit of trouble setting up at first but we just needed to be closer to the WiFi router in order for it to connect. My two favorite things about this scale is the size of the baby weighing attachment + the mat and also the app! It helps you keep track of everyone’s growth curve which is awesome. Ultimately, I am so excited to have this. I no longer have to stress out about my sons growth curve!!

I have a 4 month old baby in the 1 percentile (she is still 10 pounds). The pediatrician was concerned about her weight several weeks after being discharged from the NICU. We were having to go in every week solely for a weight check, but I had no way of keeping track at home in between the appointments. When I tell you this scale gave me SUCH peace of mind, it would be an understatement. This scale allows me to see that my daughter is continuing to gain weight (slow and steady). I never wanted to invest in a baby scale because they are so big, bulky and hard to store. The best part is the ability to take off and collapse the tray so it can become a regular, smaller scale. It can then be used by the whole family, not just the baby. It is extremely quick to take the weight since we know babies can wiggle unruly. The LED screen can convert into different weight measurements (pound vs grams, etc.) The removable cork topper is also an added bonus to give baby some comfort and grip. It even has measurements on it to keep track of height. There is a downloadable app that will sync your weights so you can compare them to the averages amongst babies which is also a favorite feature of mine. As a stay-at-home mom of three (4, 2, and 8 weeks), keeping track of my exclusively breastfed infant’s weight gain is a top priority. I was hoping this scale would be an all-in-one solution for our family, replacing both my dedicated baby scale and my current smart scale. The short version? It’s a fantastic baby scale with the precise accuracy I need, but unless I can resolve the connectivity issue, the smart features won’t be useful for me. Pros: • Sleek Design – Simple, modern, and easy to clean. Minimalist in a good way. • Easy to Use – My wiggly 2-month-old was easy to weigh, and I appreciate how the scale locks in a final number. The accuracy to the hundredth is exactly what I need for weighted feeds. The zero-out feature is a little clunky but functional. Cons: • Difficult to Switch Between Baby & Adult Mode – The baby tray is extremely hard to remove, making it inconvenient to switch between weighing my infant and using it for the rest of the family. • Power Issues – The scale occasionally loses power, and I have to shake it upside down to get it working again. Not sure if it’s a loose battery cover or another issue. • Connectivity Problems – The smart features were a huge selling point for me since I’ve previously used other smart scales and wanted a more reliable app experience. Unfortunately, despite being tech-savvy and troubleshooting on two separate occasions, I couldn’t get this scale to connect to my WiFi. So far, I haven’t been able to fully set up the app, which is disappointing. Final Thoughts: As a baby scale, this is a great option—accurate, easy to use, and well-designed. My baby preferred the Smart Scale to our previous plastic scale because of its soft, cork-style backing, which was much more comfortable than the plastic one we used. The scale also has an eye on top, so you can measure your baby's height at a glance, which I think is an excellent combination of design and practicality. When you remove the baby scale plate, you can use it as a regular scale with a clean white color, and the design is eye-catching. The scale's app, Connected Family, makes registering the Smart Scale easy and intuitive to use. It also stores weight data for family members and graphs changes over time, so you can keep track of weight and see how much your baby has grown. The app also provides reminders for regular weighing, which is a great feature for me as I often forget to weigh my baby. You can also register one of Maxi-Cosi's many devices to use with the app. I also use Maxi-Cosi's See Pro 360 Baby Monitor, and it's nice to register that device with the same app. The app is very intuitive and organized. My baby is weighed every other day after her bath, and it's very convenient because she doesn't feel too much pressure to lie on the scale, and I don't have to record her weight separately. Many parents will know that babies don't stay still on the scale, so it can be very cumbersome to weigh them and record their weight simultaneously. This Smart Scale eliminates this hassle. The best part about this scale is that it can be used by everyone in the family, not just the baby. According to the manual, this scale has a weight limit of 330 lb (150 kg), so the whole family can use one scale, reducing wasted space. My favorite part about this scale is that it's very accurate. When I first learned about it, I thought it would be not easy to accurately weigh a light baby when it can weigh babies to adults. Still, this scale is accurate to the nearest 5 grams up to 22 lbs and 10 grams beyond that, and I could measure my baby's weight accurately. Another convenient feature is that the scale automatically turns on when you step on it, without having to turn it on separately. This feature is really helpful because you don’t have to hold your baby and turn it on separately. One downside or caveat is that you can't weigh accurately on carpeting or soft surfaces. Of course, almost all scales don't overcome this limitation, so other products can't accurately weigh on the carpet either, but if you have carpeting in your home, keep this in mind. I highly recommend this one if anyone is looking for a baby scale.

This is a heavy duty scale that is perfect for the whole family. It is easy to take the panels off that are used to weight babies so that everyone in the family can use it. This product gives moms peace of mind knowing that their baby is gaining weight between doctors appointments. I was even able to weigh my baby and then breastfeed him and weigh him again to see how much he was eating each time. The scale is slick and simple to use and the app makes it so easy to keep up with weigh ins. My toddler also loved getting to weigh herself after we weighed the baby. The thing I love most about this scale is how easy it is to take off the panels and store it away when you are not using it and how accurate it was compared to the scale they use in our doctors office. I also loved that is was so simple to use and the app that works seamlessly with it. I would recommend this to anyone and think it would be the perfect gift for a new mom because there is so much anxiety as a mom to make sure your baby is growing and eating enough.
