Handle Structurally Failed in Under a Year

This microwave looked like a solid purchase at first, sleek design, decent performance, and the expected features for residential use. But after less than a year of normal, everyday use, the handle completely broke off. At first glance, it looked like it just came loose and might be an easy fix. But it's not. The upper mounting point snapped off internally, with the screw post still embedded in the door and the handle itself broken at the anchor. This isn’t something that can be screwed back on, it’s a full structural failure of a basic, critical part. For an appliance that’s otherwise functional, this is a serious flaw. A microwave that heats well doesn’t matter much if you can’t open the door reliably. This kind of failure shouldn’t happen with light, routine use, especially not in under a year. Until the manufacturer improves the durability of this part or offers an easy path for replacement and repair, I can’t recommend this model. There’s no excuse for a handle, the most used mechanical part of the unit, to break this quickly.

I purchased this microwave approx 5 years ago. It's been relatively great for all things expected of a microwave (cooking/reheating/defrosting etc). About 2 years ago a small plastic clip on the inside of the door where a spring connects to broke.if the door doesn't latch, the microwave doesn't work. Literally this little bitty plastic piece was the only thing preventing the microwave from working. Fortunately, I was able to repair this with epoxy so the door would latch again & we were able to continue regular use. Over the past year, the clock has been not keeping the correct time. Within a week of setting the time, it starts lagging. Annoying, but we got used to not relying on the time to be accurate. This past week, the plastic piece for the door latch on the inside of the door, broke again. This time splintered enough that I could not repair. The replacement cost for a door is more expensive than an entirely new microwave. I had to replace the microwave because of this tiny plastic piece. I purchased a more reliable brand. A microwave that breaks after 2-3 years isn't reliable.

I would have thought a microwave's heating would work longer than 5 years. I have had this just over 5 years. I also purchased a Samsung fridge and gas range at the same time. I am a one person household so it's not getting much use at all. I have tried all the "possible fixes", not in demo mode, power level and it's just done. Not that excited to buy another microwave and junk this one. So wasteful. Things aren't made like they used to.

Bought this in 2020. Has good features,good volume and looks good in the kitchen. About a year later the door latch stopped working. They have 1/8in of plastic holding heavy 2in spring. The parts that broke are part of the door itself and you have to replace the whole door for nearly the price of a new oven. Ended up fixing with some superglue and soda to reinforce the thin plastic. Come to 2023 magnetron is dead, replaced magnetron, new magnetron was a reasonable price. Today Aug 2024, another part of the door latch broke. This time it's the upper guide of the latch, same 1/8in plastic piece. Glued it, but I'd probably not going to hold. Prior to this I had GE over from the mid 90s, it lasted almost 30 years, it was made in South Korea and had Samsung magnetron in it. I really though that same would be of this Samsung model, but it's not good quality. If they re-engineer the door latch, I would give it more start.

I got this about 5 years ago as it came with my house. The handle broke off completely, which wasn't a big issue. But then the buttons quick working, except the 30 second button. This house purchase came with mostly Samsung products and I have been less than impressed.

Door broke just like everyone else says. After only one year. I’ve had every single other microwave in my life for many years. Flimsy cheap product. Now I have to replace it. AGAIN.

Builder installed before house was purchased. Does not heat food well. It takes forever to heat a plate of food, 5 minutes and it’s still cold in some spots. My last microwave only took 2 minutes. Lights on hood vent went out in 6 months. The electric stove is even worse. Not a big fan of Samsung appliances unfortunately. Not the same quality they put into their TVs and monitors.

Purchased this microwave on February 6, 2022. Today is July 19, 2024. Magnetron is fried. Cost more to have it replaced then buying a new one. I know the magnetron is warranted for 10 years. the cost to have it replaced is not worth it.

Had for 4 years. Works well other than the door latch breaking every other year. It's broken again for the 2nd time. Time to buy a new microwave.
