Scotch Permanent High-Density Foam Mounting Tape, Holds Up to 2 lbs, 0.75" x 38 yds, White

I used this product on several walls in my apartment to hold up photos and posters because it said "great for paint" and it held them strongly for over a year! Unfortunately, when I needed to remove them to move out there is no way to take them off without ripping the paint off. I would NOT recommend for renters.

This product is labeled as "IDEAL FOR PAINT" and goes onto to state "Designed for Painted Drywall" yet it DOES NOT come off without damaging the wall which IS NOT anywhere on the box. I called customer service to ask for removal guidance and was told "we don't advertise this as damage free." It absolutely IMPLIES that the product is damage free. I was also told the product is labeled as "permanent," however NO WHERE on the packaging does it state this. It's so misleading and the product marketers are aware if by only reading the reviews on this page! Furthermore, on this review it is required that I rate the product 0-10 for whether or not I would recommend this product with "0-Never" as an option. Yet, when I select that option, it will not accept it and forces me to at least choose 1. So the design engineers, the marketing dept, and the developers all stink at this company, or maybe it's simply the direction provided by the executives as this seems to be the MO.

I wanted a temporary, but strong mount. There are no instructions on how to remove the product.

I purchased this tape to hold carpet treads to our wooden staircase so our elderly dog could descend the stairs safely. Now that she has passed away, I'd like to remove the treads and the Scotch Indoor Mount, 314H-MED, underneath them. It has been an absolutely miserable process. I tried various solvents, putty knives, plastic knives, and more to get it up without damaging the polyurethane. I have not succeeded but will need to keep trying. So, the tape is a great hold but a painful removal.

Packaging says use 3" per lb while your website says to use 5.5".

A few years ago I mounted all of my prints on my walls with Scotch double-sided tape, and they are still all there! Recently I bought some new prints that needed mounting and thought I'd try "Gorilla" double-sided tape as I'd heard good things about it, but it was extremely hard to use as the backing was almost impossible to peel off. And withing a few hours all the prints that I'd used Gorilla tape on had fallen down! Maybe the surface was the issue - it's slightly rough dry wall with a coating of paint. So I bought a new roll of Scotch double-sided tape and stuck the prints to the wall with that with no problems at all, and the backing peels off without any problem.

I bought this to use for handing some things in my classroom and it was the WORST product I’ve used. The second side was impossible to get off, and the tape was ruined by the time I was able to get it. I will not be purchasing again.

I bought this product to mount things in the apartment I rent. It held great and worked as described. I give three stars because the fact that this tape is PERMANENT is nowhere to be found on the front of the package. That needs to be crystal clear when the tape is designed to not be removable and most foam tape like this is. I should have read the fine print, I know. I sure wish I had after spending hours to get it off my walls.

I bought this a few months ago and hung four posters and a few cut outs with it. After deciding to redo the room, I began to remove the items from the walls. Long story short, this product ripped the posters apart and took multiple layers of paint off the wall. Would not recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a package of this Scotch Indoor Mounting Tape on hand after receiving it as a free sample and it came in for me in a pinch the other day while crafting because it was just the right thickness and density for the project I was doing. The adhesive seems really good and the tape was also more moldable than some mounting tapes I have used.

This product description is very misleading and false . To make my complaint short as I have already written your corporate office . It claims to hold up to 10 lbs , I Purchased it hold Christmas garland that could not have weighed more than 5 lbs . My garland kept falling and I had to keep hanging it back up . I finally got sick and tired of rehanging it I gave up . And yes I used plenty of multiple strips to distribute the weight for the tape . Now it has left the tape residue permanently to my brand new homes walls!! The tape does not complete come off!! I specifically purchased this product because it says does not remove paint. I was mislead thinking it would be easy removal. That is not the case !! I hope they will offer some type of resolution to the damages . I am never one to complain , so for me to write this I really feel this company has mislead the consumer with their product and have given false guarantee to the product’s performance.

Just went to the website to see if I had to do a process in order to activate the glue cause now is doesn't stick to anything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used the mounting tape to mount a couple heavy (wood framed) earaser boards in the house , and was pleasently surprised how easy and well it worked . Boards have been rock solid on the walls and have not budged since they were mounted .

Scotch indoor mounting tape is exactly the product for people like me. I use it to hang hooks, picture frames, art decor and anything you can think of that is not too heavy. It is easy to remove as well. To prevent damage on the paint, just carefully peel it from the wall when you need to remove it. It is a handy tool that I will always keep some in my home from time to time.

It was also very easy to use. I will be interested to see how it removes from wall if I ever decide to rearrange them as they are very secure.

The hold is strong and I didn't have a problem with things falling.

I replaced the original tape with the 3m mounting tape I received free in return for my review and have not had a single one fail. In fact, I needed to move one and it took far more force than any cable would ever put on the tape to remove.
