A: Hi! The Sealy Baby Posturepedic Evolution 2-Stage Mattress will not fit a twin size bed. Each Sealy Baby mattress is designed to fit snugly inside a USA standard size crib. The inside of your crib should measure between 27 3/8″ — 28 5/8″ wide and 51 ¾” — 53″ long. Great question!

Q: Are the specifications wrong for this mattress? It says it weighs only 5.5 lbs and is made of foam, while the product description says it is made of innerspring coils which would be much heavier.

A: Great question! We do not add fire retardants to any of our products and the cover is not removable. Keep in mind, the mattress does include a waterproof barrier that keeps the mattress protected against leaky messes, odors, mold and bacteria from growing inside.

I absolutely hate this mattress and I'm at a loss of what to do- its not like mattresses are easily returnable and I spent a lot of money on what I thought would be a good mattress for safe sleep. I currently use this crib for naps only but it's coming to a point where my baby is going to be ready to transition out of our room into this crib and I am terrified to leave him at night in this. The edges of the mattress slope downward so he constantly gets his right arm stuck and is unable to move himself back up to a higher part of the mattress. This is a standard Delta children's crib, also purchased at Target. I should have returned this mattress the moment I bought it home when I was still pregnant.

We got this mattress with the first baby and purchased the same thing for the second. Both have slept like a dream. Oldest is still using his mattress on the toddler side. We plan to use these as long as we can. Have not tried other mattresses out there but these have given us all the gift of sleep, and you can’t put a price on that!

Too small for a standard sized crib. Left large gaps around edges. Mattress cover also puffed with air when my toddler laid on it. Seemed unsafe for an infant.

Hi! The standard crib mattress size means that your crib mattress must fit snugly inside a USA standard size crib. Often, improper fitting mattresses are caused because the crib is not a standard size or it was assembled incorrectly. Minimum crib mattress dimensions are 27 1/4″ wide x 51 5/8″ long and no more than 6″ thick. You may use a tape measure to check that there is no more than a 1 1/4″ gap between the interior of the crib side and crib mattress. Also, crib dimensions are dictated by ASTM and Federal Law and must have INTERIOR dimensions of 28″ x 52 3/8″ (plus or minus 5/8″ wide and plus or minus 5/8″ long). The inside of your crib should measure between 27 3/8″ — 28 5/8″ wide and 51 ¾” — 53″ long. Mattresses are designed to be slightly smaller to allow them to fit within these tolerances. I guess we got a defective mattress, but it’s a bit irregularly shaped and way too small for a standard crib. There’s a 3” gap between the mattress and side of the crib. This isn’t any sort of weird or special crib. It’s a Delta Children’s brand crib.

This is the second mattress I’ve purchased. Purchased the first for my oldest who is now 3 and still uses it, good quality and still holds up like when we first got it. The second one I just purchased for our second baby appears to be good quality as well. For anyone wondering, the infant side is easily distinguishable with a label reading “this is infant side”

I love this mattress we switch to it from one of those basic cheap infant mattresses and she loves the way that it feels its kind of has like a pillow top to it but it’s still firm enough for her to sleep. It could be the coils that make it bouncy when she jumps but I still love it. She is 15 months old we do use a toddler pillow, she does great, and we do have blankets and she does a great I definitely recommend this mattress to anybody honestly.

I hate this mattress. My son has been using it for 6 months and it does seem like it’s holding up okay. But the part I hate about it is the edges are curved so pacifiers fall out of it as soon as my baby spits it out. I put TEN pacifiers in his crib last night and by 4am there weren’t any left because they all fell out. I feel like this is a serious design flaw considering parents are already exhausted, and with this mattress I’m having to wake up just to put pacifiers back in my sons crib for him. My first babies mattress was square on the edges so I had no problem with a square one!

DO NOT BUY. This mattress is thicker in the middle than the edges. Which made it easy for my baby to roll over to the bars of the crib. Also making it so that he couldn’t roll back away from the railing.
