LO seems very comfortable on the mattress compared to the pack n play they were sleeping on previously. We transitioned them to a crib 6+mos, so comments about it being "too soft" won't worrisome for us. I by default buy a mattress protector to help with dust mites as well. The mattress, with the mattress protector and sheets, fit snugly in our standard crib.

Avoid - Undersized for standard crib
As other reviewers have indicated, this mattress is far too small for a standard crib. There is nearly 2 inches on each side and does not fit snugly within the crib.

Hi Val, the crib mattress is ASTM Crib Mattress Certified for proper crib fit and sizing for ensured safety. The crib mattress should only be used inside USA standard size cribs and toddler bed frames that conform to current Federal or ASTM standards.

Poor packaging/Mattress fine
The mattress was delivered in "its original manufacturer's packaging" which means a thin clear plastic bag that was dirty & had several large holes in it. The mattress was okay but had some dirt marks where the bag had ripped. No heavier shipping bag or wrapping to protect the mattress. I won't be ordering furniture accessories from Target anymore. Other online vendors do a much better job with shipping. Beware if you order from Target.

I highly recommend not purchasing online. Item arrived with holes in the plastic packaging. This there are dirty spots on the mattress.

Drive Up personnel literally dragged this mattress across the street. This piece wasn’t heavy at all and because this Twit did this it tore the protective cover off a corner and she hands it over w/oil, gas & who knows what stain and wonders why I’m upset?!!! Fits a pottery barn crib perfectly, was worried when buying as I had usually used a waterproof mattress that wasn’t soft but the plastic on it, but so far it has exceeded expectations. No bad smells, not too soft like the other mattress I had received. Baby sleeps great on it although she was a little older when I bought it.

This mattress is not safe after only two months there’s a crater in the center. It is not firm enough.

Comfy for toddler/no good for newborn or infant
This is a two sided mattress, one side for infant and the other for a toddler. The infant side is not firm enough and, in my opinion, poses a suffocation hazard as it is too soft. Infant might as well just sleep in my adult bed. Giving this mattress to my toddler and giving my newborn my toddlers Beautyrest Silver mattress which is firmer. Also the mattress leaves gaps on the sides and corners. See picture. Very comfortable for my toddler though!
