With a refreshing mint flavor, this fluoride toothpaste leaves an extra fresh, clean feeling while feeling gentle on gums. Q: Is the mint flavor peppermint or spearmint?
submitted by Picky about flavors - 2 years ago
A: Flavors are complex blends of several ingredients (essential oils, natural and/or artificial flavors). Natural mint (spearmint and peppermint), artificial mint, and menthol are common components of the flavors used in our oral care products, including Sensodyne Sensitivity Gum & Enamel Mint Toothpaste.

Q: Can you provide an updated list of ingredients? I am wary as the ingredients (active and inactive) are identical on this product and on the sensitivity + gum whitening product.
submitted by Alexandra - 2 years ago
A: Thanks for the question. The ingredients in Sensodyne Sensitivity Gum & Enamel Mint toothpaste are as follows: stannous fluoride 0.454% (0.15% w/v fluoride ion); glycerin, PEG-8, hydrated silica, pentasodium triphosphate, flavor, sodium lauryl sulfate, titanium dioxide, polyacrylic acid, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium saccharin, silica.
The differences between this toothpaste and Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum Whitening toothpaste are in the cleansing agents, flavoring components, and quantitative differences in the ingredients used in their formulations.
This toothpaste is highly regarded for its effectiveness in managing tooth sensitivity and promoting gum health. Many guests have experienced significant relief from discomfort associated with cold and hot foods, while also appreciating its gentle formula that cleans without irritation. The mint flavor is refreshing, and the product is praised for its ability to strengthen enamel. Overall, it serves as a reliable choice for those seeking a solution for sensitive teeth and gums.

Not for receding gums!
I have receding gums and the moment this toothpaste touched my teeth in those spots I literally screamed because it hurt so bad. I’m so confused why it hurt since it’s supposed to be for sensitive teeth.

helps with sensitivity
I’ve never used Sensodyne toothpaste, but the other day I chipped my front tooth and he started to receive some pain and discomfort when brushing my teeth with my regular toothpaste. It automatically relieved the sensitivity that I had. I hope it strengthens my enamel surface and helps my gums plan to use it moving forward. The causes no more than regular toothpaste, they had a bundle, which was more economical.

Great for sensitive teeth
I’ve been using this product for several months now. I noticed an improvement in a few days! I was hesitant to try this out because of my sensitivities and thinking I’d have a negative reaction to it. This product has helped me a lot when before I was having a lot of pain and couldn’t enjoy eating certain foods using products from Crest or Colgate. My cousins recommended that I try this and I’m happy I did!

I had toothaches for years until my dentist recommended Sensodyne. I started using it about four years ago and toothaches are very rare. I am 79 years old and hope to keep my teeth healthy as long as I can.

Sensitivity be gone!
I’ve been using sensodyne for many years. I like the flavor and texture. But my biggest factor is related to me having sensitive teeth and gums. This protective product makes a difference for me. I can always tell a difference when I’ve had to use something else (I.e. traveling and forgot it). And I feel like buying the double pack is the smarter money choice. Added bonus - help keep my teeth white

Sensitive to my braces treatment
So I have braces (adult braces) and gums tend to get more sensitive with the orthodontic movement of teeths, sometimes others brands wouldn’t be as sensitive as this, I’ve been using them for a month now, and realize that my gums are less sensitive, will continue using at least int his braces stage, maybe Ill try the other products of this brand later, for sure something that whitens the stains.

Improves sensitive teeth like it says!
In my postpartum journey I developed sensitive teeth and I had to search to find the perfect toothpaste to actually help with that new problem. Sensodyne sensitivity and gum did exactly that! Plus, it leaves breath smelling fresh.

This toothpaste caused serious damage to my mouth.
My family and I used it for about a week, and then I had a large area of ulcers in my mouth, which made me unable to eat. My husband used it, causing bleeding gums, and my mother used it for three days, which also caused gum pain and swelling. At first, I didn't know it was caused by toothpaste, but on the first day I stopped using it, my mouth didn't hurt, but the broken mouth didn't heal, and it may take a few days. So I hope you can pay attention to it. I don't know what formula you have in your toothpaste, but it has caused me serious harm.

Extreme irritation
Tried this toothpaste out of curiosity and it didn’t help sensitively at all. After about a week of use it started causing multiple problems for me. I had swollen gums, painful irritation on my tongue and inside of mouth, and extremely dry lips. Threw the full tube away and will never buy again. Going back to Tom’s immediately and will never switch.
